limpit collector filtering

Ooo ooo I want this too.
Agreed it takes away a lot of the utility of having collector limpets when they collect stuff you don't actually want.
Shame that selecting a canister/material causes the limpet to die once it's done fetching (why is that anyway?)
Not sure what the ideal solution would be, perhaps crudely a toggle in the 'functions' panel so the limpets select either materials, cargo, or both?

Absolutely!
When I dump a ton of indite or gallite because I wasn't quick enough on the "vent" button while mining, that's because I don't want it, so I don't want the limp limpets collecting the bloody thing again. That cargo space is for painite, dagnabbit!

I think it was a bug that has been fixed now.

But yes, three tick boxes in the function menu please under collector limpet controller:

Cargo
Fragments
Materials

A filter on material/cargo type would be handy, but would be a BIG list to manage - so I will stick to the simpler option please!

With an on/off toggle for the mining laser (Hijack).

If not sure of what limpets are about to bring aboard, go to Navigation/Targeting panel, sub menu Contacts, and a list of collectable items are displayed, you can the instruct limpet drones to ignore anything you do not wish them to pick up. As far as I know, this instruction remains extant until you choose to change it (or, I suspect, until your ship is destroyed).

You can already ignore any material/cargo you don't want them to catch up, not sure what more you need?
Not completely true, if you have collector limpets harvesting materials in a HAZRES in an area where you have killed another ship, it is possible to find that, unless you specify otherwise, any cargo dropped can be recovered as well, which may well get you killed of fined if you do not realize!! You can filter out what is not required in fairly specific terms in the inventory (Internal) panel when in cargo page, and also as stated above, in the External panel Nav/Transactions/Contacts.

I have been able to filter anything that not needed. Cargo Minerals and such. It just knowing where to look.

I filter out what I specifically don't want and then dump any illegal/stolen mats in the inventory after I leave the area and before I get anywhere I can be scanned, seems to do the trick for me.

Why are you using the vent button when you can just ignore the indite in the first place?
