Linked PS4 to EDSM results in totally blank profile. No history, no progress, nada

I have tried linking my PS4 commander to EDSM a number of times (deleting EDSM account in between) using the Frontier Auth Service method.

My commander name successfully transfers over but nothing else.

On the other hand, logging into Inara I can see my fleet, my current position, my ranks (Pioneer, Broker), my Reputation, everything that Inara has to offer. But EDSM is a total blank.

Since I am playing on PS4, I select PS4 as the platform, nominate my PS4 email address and commander name, but there is nothing there. I want to see where I have been on the galactic map to give me a sense of the bigger picture (and my tiny insignificant size), but it seems impossible.

Can anyone assist here?

Cheers...

Good luck. I think edsm poorer than other 3rd party apps I've used. Its damn near impossible to update your profile from ps4 on a phone unless you can leave the page open for hours if you don't update a few times daily if you are very active. If you only play an hour a day or a few hours a week it's probably no problem. At one point in time I did a few thousand ly of jumps and the now it takes longer than a fully charged battery lasts to finish syncing the data. I gave up on it over a year ago.

But I'm not using a phone. I'm using the EDSM website directly.
Can you suggest a similar website where I can see my historical travels on a map?

No sorry. This should have been implemented in the game directly if you ask me. No game should require a 3rd party website to find your own record of doings. Its one of the most pathetic oversites I'm aware of

I had the same issue 4 days ago and solved it. Make sure the following:

1. Open EDSM and log in via "Connect using the Frontier Auth Service"

2.choose psn and make sure you wrote down commander name ,the same as in-game.you can check at EDSM main page if it shows properly. (important).*¹

(*1note: if you wrote your name wrong ,you have to go EDSM--->MyAccount--->Settings---> delete my account and clear save and wait some hours for the account to delete and then log in again properly with psn via "Connect using the Frontier Auth Service").

If you are good to go then...

3. After logged in properly , press at the upper right corner the EDSM menu button (3 dashes) and choose My Account----console updater. Open the game at your ps4 and play, while you play the console updater is doing its magic.(not necessary to be loged in game, only if you have many days to do so).

Watch the orange bar as it countdown from 3 minutes to zero and as soon as it reach 0 seconds ,you will see a message that data is imported for a specific date and time. This happens because EDSM is fetching your data piece by piece.

The only thing you have to do for some time is to make sure ,at console updater page that after each 3 minutes period ,the orange bar fills up to 3 minutes ---> goes empty at 0 seconds ----> blue bar with data import is showing properly (each time you will see another date and time data import).

To understand that something is going wrong ,you will notice that after each console updater period of 3 minutes the color of the bar instead of orange ,goes grey.

You only have to use console updater from MyAccount menu and let it roll again.

*tip: if you use your phone ,make sure you have Screensaver setting off for the period ,the console updater needs to finish catching up with your data log.

Just make sure you keep the Console updater active and your commander's name is matching your in game name. It took me a couple of hours to synchronize my data ,but eventually everything is good now.

Just open the website and run the console updater for awhile. The first time you run it will take a long time, and you may have to refresh the page a few times. Subsequent updates will be quicker, but still not as quick as Inara unfortunately.

As above, the console updater will only load a single days worth of data at a time, so thats the 3 min cool down for every day you have been playing. I left the webpage open on my laptop and just came back to it every so often to make sure the page was still active (sometimes it times out and you need to refresh the page). It does work, but it takes time.

Thankyou @ozbourne79, @akey_uk, and @Filthythat is great advice. I have already started to see some information downloading just by sitting there and waiting for the orange bar to reduce. I will leave it running and see if more information populates. Just goes to show that not everything is as instantaneous as we expect... Thanks Commander!

 The game directly provides a record of everything you've done. No third party sites required.

The game doesn't provide you a record of discoveries which is something we've done. Nice try though. Imo this is a massive oversight
Have you looked at the Codex in game?

It shows personal stats, session logs, discoveries in both a collaborative and individual way and hint at potential discoveries in the galaxy.
