Newcomer / Intro Linking between Inara, EDMC, EDDB, EDSM etc

So I have been a dufus (yeah, I know... no change there)... installed EDMC and no verification details, then tried to log in, and of course forgot about the Weekly Maintenance (in fairness the launcher is happily telling me the servers are ok!)

So... EDMC did not prompt me for my details - but I believe that is because the last time I logged in after the FC Update, I just got to the mode choice menu and then exited... so I need to actually get INTO the game for that to prompt me (hopefully).

So... I already have Inara with auto-update enabled for my frontier details - and I don't want APIs to double-count so am I right in understanding I now just use the EDMC API to plug in to things like EDDB, EDSM, AND Inara and then turn off Inara's auto-update with Frontier?

There is no double counting. You can run EDMC and the Autoupdate at the same time with no problems. Quite a sensible thing to do in case you forget to run EDMC for a while.

If you run 2 apps that update EDDN, such as EDMC AND EdDiscovery, then that is a bad thing, but they will warn you if you are doing that.

OK Cool - I just followed the CMDR Exigeous Quickie Tutorial and have connected to EDSM, Inara and it all seems to be connected fine. W
The only thing that doesn't appear to work/be there are any plug-ins from my install.
