linking commander profiles on oculus

just tired out elite dangerous on my new oculus...I LOVE IT!
problem.
I've got a vast amount of time invested in my xbox commander, near as dammit triple crowned, a fleet of ships etc.
is there no way at all of getting that commander synced to my oculus. ? when all is said and done, the game is installed on the headset not the pc.

You can ask FD to transfer your account from XBox to PC, though you'll lose progression (such as ranks, etc.). You'll keep all your ships and money, I believe.

You need to raise a support ticket if you want to do that.

You can't sync between two different platforms.

@cargorunner1969 Before you do anything, be aware you WILL lose your ships.

All you get is the balance of your total assets transferred. Cold, hard cash.

You lose everything else. All ranks (faction and engineering), all engineering mods, all access to Guardian mods if you've unlocked those, all your stock of materials.

You'll be starting all over again, but with a mass of credits at your disposal.

I did this with my PS4 account when I moved to PC for VR. I don't regret it (though I might if ED VR ever comes to PSVR via the PS5...)

What happens to your PS4 account? Is that reset, or are you able to keep that also?

I didn't realise you lost your ships. I knew you lost everything else. I'm not sure I'd bother if it is literally just credits that are transferred. At the point you've got to build everything else up, credits are comparatively easy.

Basically, yeah, if you load up Elite you have to register your PSN-ID again and it's like you've never played on PS4 before.

I did it, but I had something like 1.4bn (yes, billion) credits to transfer. I can buy whatever I want, and I'm happy to do the grinding to get rep to unlock other ships. And I now have the benefit of hindsight - no way am I grinding rep with the empire all the way to Duke or whatever it is to unlock the Cutter. I got one on my PS4 account and it sat in the garage gathering dust while I was out having a blast in my Federal Corvette.

I did rank up to Baron though. The Clipper is a lovely ship.
