Linking XBOX One Profile to Frontier Account (Existing or New that is the question!)

Hello CMDRs

I am hoping someone can point me in the correct direction. I have for my sins just bought the game again! for the XBox One, I am now presented with an option with no real explanation as to what each option will give me.

Before playing the game I have to link my XBox One Profile with a Frontier account. Now do I link it with my existing Frontier account associated with my PC copy of the game or do I create a new one just for the XBox version?

What benefits if any do you get with either linking to an existing account or creating a new on.

I do not want to effect my PC progress in anyway. I want to start again on the XBox.

I linked mine with my existing PC account, but it didn't really affect anything (i.e. don't expect any of your PC assets to carry over)

If y'all on PC thought ED was going stale, Xbox has around a tenth of the population as PC. I accidentally went into Shinrarta in open the other day and there was no one in supercruise and 2 people docked at Jameson.

And people still play this on Mac [haha]
