Lions need their attention

You gave 'silly' dog fans their attention! It's past time you gave cat lovers some attention! Fix precious lions! Their food costs way too much! Lions are my favorite! Thank you.
Aren't the lions and tigers famously expensive to feed even IRL? Or cats in general. "My" cheetah costs some 15 grand a year.
Not that I would be against lowering food costs in the game - it's one of the things that prevents me from playing Franchise.

Obviously. So? Lions cost way, way more than tigers.

I manage to uphold a pride of 9 lions in my zoo, but I have a whole lot of cheap animals to compensate for that. Lions need a pride, not just a pair until the whelps come :)

Wow. As a cat lover I still find the tone in this thread very disturbing. "Silly" dog fans? Really?

Lions are terribly expensive to feed in real life as they need a lot of quality meat. Heck, even my three pet cats are more expensive to feed than a dog of average size. A lot of playershave no financial issues in franchise after a while. So maybe you just need to add lions at a time where income is more stable. Smallzoos in real live can not start with big cats as well. And if you want lions right away, there are a lot other modes to play.

So what? There's no comparing the Planet Zoo price of food between lions and the canines species. Dog fans would've had the price reduced already.

Plus, dogs eat totally different from cats and therefore indeed are cheaper to feed.
But well, feel free to ignore my comment and make a dog vs. cat thing out of it, if you need to.... I agree with @Aero-Bubbles and besides that still think it all comes down to financial management.

Also, canids and felines, while including dogs and cats, are not exlusively dogs and cats. This is a very simplistic outlook on them. For example, foxes act much more like cats than dogs, and lions actually act pretty similar to dholes. There is no competition between "cats" and "dogs" in a zoo game, and as a person that worked in a zoo for many years, I can tell you that lions are extremely tough to feed and maintain, and this is realistically reflected in the game, while wolves and african wild dogs require much more enrichment, but are way cheaper when it comes to food costs.
