List of bodies discovered by you !

Hi everyone

I have been bothered by a contradiction lately : As we go exploring about the stars in the uncharted parts of the Galaxy we regularly bump into systems and bodies that are already discovered by other players. This means that the data exists and is stored somewhere. Yet as we know there is no "in game" way to see the places we have first discovered. I saw on reddit a post where someone had a PDF spreadsheet of the discoveries and their first discoverer. This list is a good year old however. My point is : it seems it is possible to retrieve this data, does anyone know how to do it ??

reddit post : https://www.reddit.com/r/EliteDangerous/comments/2uvrhm/official_first_discovery_list/

thanks in advance !

Only FD can do it, and they only did it once, back when "First discovered by" tags were added. In theory, they could produce another dump: in practice, it would probably be far too large now. Especially if they'd have to bring down the exploration server(s) for it.
So no, you can't query your first discoveries. You can, however, keep track of your discoveries with third-party utilities like EDDiscovery or Captain's Log.

The 2.2 Horizons release is introducing the ability to see systems you have visited, but it will only show systems you visit after it has been implemented.

I don’t think that’s entirely correct? Weren’t the devs working with the EDDiscovery team to code in a routine to upload our systems visited date from our EDD logs back into the game’s cache files, thereby flagging any system we’ve visited ever with EDD running and logging?

I’m pretty sure I read that somewhere in the 2.2 Beta forum…

Last I heard they were going to allow you to import systems from a text file to the list used for the visited systems filter - just the names, one per line, duplicates not an issue. Or essentially highlight the whole system column in your travel history in EDD, copy, paste into notepad, save in the right place, start ED.

If it ends up being more complicated than that by release then I'm sure that someone will knock up a widget to get the properly formatted file from EDD or EDSM.

EDSM already has a button that can export the list of systems in your history. ED Discovery can send the entire history in its database to EDSM automatically (if it doesn't already) so getting that list is going to be easy.

Yar, if it sticks as plain text, system name per line then it's easy to do from either source.

If they make it some kind of funky format for some reason a specially formatted export can be implemented for either pretty quickly - I can't think of any sensible reason why they'd want to complicate it though so we should be grand.
