List of ships kitted for combat

People are making a fuss about the new ship prices, so I have created a list of "combat ships" with typical combat load-outs.
(I am not recommending these builds - they are for price demonstration purposes)

Wow... am I right in thinking my 'Conda budget just went through the roof? And I was only a few million from a Python too...

Heh - people get hung-up on the base ship costs, and always forget to factor int he upgrades...this is to try and put actual "final" costs into perspective. Of course these are fully upgraded builds...you won't step right into these ships when you buy them probably... :)

Cheers, Pete. I thought as much as that was similar to my upgraded price in my notebook for Python. Just wondered if this was actually a "thing" that could have justified all the rage on the forum about 1.2. So far it's sweet!

And many thanks for info, I should have just followed links instead of reading forums in between USS's in game :)

Not really a fair assesment. You either remove military reinforcement from all ships or you add it to all ships.
Military bulkhead upgrade is already included on all builds listed - so I'm not sure what you mean.

If you mean the hull reinforcement and/or shield boosters - these are new ship modules, the costs for these are not known, and they are only added in slots that would otherwise be "empty" in a combat build. These builds are to optimise the ships for combat, some ships don't have enough "spare" slots to include these items.

you forgot the dropship.........it's one of the nastiest combat ships.

Ohh sorry misread that.

Have to remember you dont need full A-fit for flying. I have only 73mil invested on python (hull price included) and I have a lot fun with it.

I think the point Pete is trying to demonstrate is that an open chequebook Vulture is same as an Asp and an open chequebook FDL is same as a Python. So hull costs may be higher, but module costs balance out.

Doing God's work.

Just when I thought I had enough for the Vulture, BAM! I saw the price of the Military Grade Amor!

Guess I'm flying a glass cannon for a while now! :D

FYI since ED Shipyard doesn't have the numbers, A grade shield boosters cost about 280k, so they don't add that much to the OP's figures.

I pretty much disagree with the equipment you've selected for every single ship in that list I've flown so far :)

Gimballed Beams on the Python? Why?

:) We'd all opine on different loadouts. The OP's list is actually golden. I'd always put A-class Life Support on a combat ship, but the like-for-like comparison he has done is awesome work. The Shipyard should really have some info like this as standard, e.g. you have the ship cost we have just now, plus a "D-class" price and an "A-class" price, roughly based upon the kind of typical loadouts for the typical use for the ship. Experience is all well-and-good, but I thought that 3MCr would be enough to buy a Cobra and get it up to full combat class. Miles out! Dipping my toe into the next class up (Asp and Vulture) without having the full price information available would be tricky without the forums. And because I'm in a Cobra, I can't see the prices for C5 and C6 modules.

Really nice work OP. Thanks!

Where do you do combat that 7.5 minutes isn't enough to get to a station if you lose the canopy? On my Clipper 5A costs another 12t mass and 210 kW of power.

3mil should get you a decent cobra though.

The price increase is pretty standardized for the important ones, ie FSD, Shield, Power plant and Thrusters. Class 4 is 1.6m, Class 5 is 5m, Class 6 is 16m, Class 7 is 51m on A rating. For each rating you go down, divide price by 3.
