Litter, broken stuff and water treatment

I'm sure I'm not the only one with guests who complain about litter. If you have a lot of paths, you have to trace all of them individually to find the litter and this takes A LOT OF TIME. Please add litter to the heat map so we're able to find the litter that's causing so much heartache for our guests. Another option would be to add paths to the work zones, so we can assign enough staff to keep them clean.
Same thing with broken/vandalised stuff, add it to the heat map so we don't have to search every corner of the park to replace them. Or another possibility is the option to let security guards replace vandalised items or a button that lets you replace all the broken stuff at once.

Lastly, why is there no upgrade for the water treatment facility that guests can tolerate? You can add solar panels and your guests don't mind, why nothing similar for water? Or at least increase the range of the water treatment facilities, because right now it is often a pain in the butt to place them. If you have a big habitat and you want to add water in the middle, you often have to place multiple water treatments to cover all the water, because the range is very limited and then you also have to make sure guests don't see them to prevent whining. Either add upgrades so that we're able to place water treatments that guests can tolerate or increase the range.

I'm starting to think litter is broken. I'm playing Sandbox. I have a kazillion trash bins and what should be too many caretakers, all assigned to workzones and I constantly have too much litter in my zoo. It's annoying. I would love to be able to toggle off litter and vandalism in Sandbox.

Yes to this! I would reaaaally love to have a heatmap showing litter and vandalized items. It would help to know where I should add more caretakers, guards, cameras or bins. Most of the time I can't even see ANY litter on the ground when guests are complaining about it, even though I have bins and caretakers everywhere, same with security guards and cameras.

Regarding the water treatment, I don't mind too much about the negative impact on guests; it's more frustrating that every body of water seems to only be 'cleaned' by 1 water treatment facility and for large bodies of water, this is not enough to keep it clean. Even when the status is green and mechanics have checked recently, it's not enough to keep the water clean and causes my animals to get sick (see career mode 5 with the Safari park for a very clear example).

I found that if you assign your caretakers to a work zone they will not clean the litter good. The only thing that the caretakers do when assigned to a work zone is deliver animals to the habitats and ignore the paths around that habitat. I let all of my caretakers roam freely with no work zone assignment and they clean the litter a LOT better. It takes a little longer for them to deliver animals but I can wait.

I don't find it such a big problem, makes me feel right at home :D
But maybe I'll do a challenge test to see how long a zoo survives without the foodstuff vendors. I'll know for sure they will not stay very long, but I am not sure if the income will go bad. Or maybe the visitors will not go through the faraway habitats and I lose on donations. I guess I'll find out. At least a challenge zoo is no loss when it's going bankrupt.

The zoo may need an info stand. Let's go find out.

Lots of animals don't have an open water source in their requirements. They just do fine with water from the tap.

I had a big viewing platform that was getting a lot of litter despite there being multiple trash cans. I picked up 2 caretakers and placed them there - they cleaned it up and it didn't come back. They were already in the workgroup for the platform though, not sure why they needed to be placed there manually.

I observed the same case. Caretakers were wandering on the clean areas of the zoo and not working, but after putting them where there was litter, they started cleaning and then these areas will stay clean forever.

A pool of water looks nicer and more natural than a bowl with a tap. I've noticed that when the animal is thirsty it doesn't much matter if there is water there or not. I think it's a bug. It happened in my large habitat last night with animals sitting between a clean pool and a tap. Earlier in the day no problems. I shouldn't be getting server lag in Sandbox mode though.

I've thought about something similar about the litter! I get the "too much litter" alarm, and I've looked on all of my path, and only found two cups (or whatever it was) on the ground. Got it removed but still has the alarm. I would LOVE to see where the litter is on the heat map. And maybe even a switch to "where there's no trashcan near enough" (like you can switch between where animals can walk, and where it counts as shelter).

About the water, I think that when the water treatment (and other staff things that annoys the guests) should not be visible when it's inside walls and decorations, other than the big red cirkle in the heat map. I think the heat mat should only be the big, red cirkle, when there's no doubt, the guests can see it. This goes for when the buildings is under the terrain, where the guests can't see it as well.
