All releases have their issues and this being a big release has had some issues which is to be expected.

Just wanted to say thanks to all the support staff at Frontier who've been working very very very hard to get things back onto an even keel.

I appreciate all the hard work you've done.

Unsung heros in my opinion.

very good point, ive spent my fair share of long nights in 16C DC's
dinner was probably half a scotch egg eaten between reboots and trawling long log files
thank you for the hard work it was a long day

I can't imagine the exhaustion the developers must be feeling today after burning the midnight oil to make sure ED is functioning properly. Thank you FDev, thank you moderators for handling the salt overload, and thanks to everyone that showed patience with this update. The rest of you can go sit in the corner to think about what you did.

I agree with everything Tj said (except the last sentence).

Server, support, everyone working behind the scenes to try and keep things turning deserves a great deal of thanks.

I agree, they are pretty good if they can get the game out on time while also having Tj around.

I'm glad we only had to suffer some connection issues, imagine the real damage Tj could have done ;)

They certainly have my sympathy. If I worked in FD support I would have taken today off I think (and left early yesterday).[yesnod]

Personally I think they always do a sterling job.

I've raised a grand total of ONE ticket in my 4+ yrs playing Elite. Is that because I have had zero issues with the game? Errr nope it isn't...I've lost many credits, ships, instances etc due to bugs, crashes etc but I don't regard these issues to be of a sufficiently serious nature to burden the people working on the game, unlike some of you dorks who never stop bothering them with trivial queries - just like those irritating hypochondriacs who never give their doctors a break!

Now, that one ticket was due to a game-breaking issue, whereby a bug caused the game to freeze at the rebuy screen, specifically the detention centre dialogue box; how did Support help? Well they closed the ticket due to "inactivity" without any investigation &/or communication with me. How long did you leave the query for it to become "inactive", I hear you ask? Ooooh,'must have been all of 24 hrs!!

Incidentally, the only reason I even found out about their response to my problem was because the issue sorted itself out when I logged in next, hence I went to the support section to immediately inform them of this, out of pure courtesy - you might want to look up that word, support team - to avoid wasting their valuable time.

...ergo, based on my own experience, forgive me if I don't share your effusive, forelock-tugging reverence!

NB: Let's hope I never have any further problems now! Well, if I do, I can always get back to playing X4...despite the inferior flight model; after all, those amazing space stations won't build themselves ya know! ��

Cheers to them. I've only done the mining and a tiny bit of exploration, and am loving the update.

Yeah whatever voodoo they did to fix the server in the middle of a crisis was actual magic. They saved the launch day. Well done!
