In seriousness, I don't think that permanent player built structures belong in this game.

I would love to see mechanics that enabled players to encourage NPC factions to establish bases and stations in particular systems though.

I'm sure I read somewhere that at some point, maybe not off the bat with Horizons, but at some point I would be able to create a little outpost of my own, you know with a little landing pad, and a couple of structures, and an 'x' marks the spot stash of gear, whatever that may be.

Someplace I can call home on some desolate rock hidden in the megnetic field of some exotic gas giant, where no one could find me. With built in defences, a stealth shield, so no one could scan me etc... (as a caveat, I am still hoping at some point I can have away crew, going on adventure on foot, crewman number 4 never makes it back having been slurped into the brain guzzler of ba....getting ahead of myself, but you get the picture.

I see all sorts of oppurtunties developing out of this idea, think wing working out of base smuggling, raiding, helping...endless.

I'd prefer being able to "own" a part of a station. meaning, if we had to pay ship storage (if only) then you could opt to buy a certain amount of space for a long term instead of paying a smaller, more frequent fee. You could store ships/modules/cargo. But we can store any ship, any size, any amount of time, all for the price of requesting docking. Now talk about possibilities.....

I'm just going to pick on you a little, don't take it personally.


Stop saying crafting when talking about building complex facilities. We aren't gluing together some wooden walls and affixing tassles wherever it seems pretty. Put down the macaroni!!!! These are highly technical structures and equipment designed for the extremes of space...crafting doesn't do it justice.

I would love to contract the contstruction of my scientific outpost...sounds a lot better.
