Hello! New commander here for ED but a long time gamer. It's great that we all have cool ships but there's nothing to make them uniquely ours.
Has there ever been any thought to adding a livery editor option in the hanger bay? There are options in the store for paints so I'm guessing this idea would be considered a loss of micro transaction revenue.
To me this game is in along the lines of the racing genre. The pilots are like drivers and each wants their vessel to be an extension of themselves. One of the many ways that racing simulation games have found to increase interest and time spend in their game was to include the option for custom liveries on the cars. In some cases, not unlike myself, the time spent in the game is doubled because of the option of the creative and artistic outlet. Once the custom livery is created...of course you have to take it out to show it off.
Adding this option would likely increase time played across the board and potentially draw in new artists seeking a new canvas.
