I already posted a couple thoughts to the wishlist, but I thought it might be nice to have a thread dedicated to a discussion of what we saw in the livestream. What a show! So many things to be excited about, and unless I am mistaken, that wasn't even the final launch build. Of course, we had a glimpse of the original JP jeep skin and a good look at a few dinosaurs we haven't seen up close yet. The Diplodocus looked amazing!

There were some clipping issues, of course. That's to be expected. The Dilophosaurus was really getting lost in that carnivore feeder. Oh well. That stuff will be tweaked down the line, if possible.

I would love to see a preview of the cosmetic genes being applied. I want to know what the dinosaur will look like before breeding it!

I also wish the herbivores would have reacted to the Velociraptor walking among them. They didn't seem to notice, even when it was right next to them. I hope they change that soon.

I was amazed at how challenging Pena looked! One twister completely wrecked that playthrough!

What stood out to you in the stream?

I honestly am not concerned about any clipping, that stuff is one of, if not impossible to fix because it can cause a multitude of issues afterwords. I think the reason that most of the herbivores did not react is because they were not that afraid of the raptor because of its small size. There are other videos out there where they do react and run away. Most of the ones that were nearby were no match of a single raptor. I think the game looks really good. I didn't like how dark Pena looked, but that will add more of a challenge I think. The 1993 Jeep skin was by far the best thing. The 1st and 3rd person views in the Gyro was the second best thing.

I searched the responsed, and yes, he said that it would be, if not definitive, very close, so yeah, maybe there will be some fixes and small improvements. Mea culpa, I missread.

Agreed.

Visibility on Pena was interesting, and during that storm it almost looked impossible to navigate in the Jeep. I think it's going to be very odd spending several hours in perpetual nighttime. It's like an Alaskan winter or something. I don't plan on spending any more time on that island than necessary, personally.

The only thing that stood out was the lack of lighting for enclosures (since I didn't see much lighting) and the lack of a Giganotosaurus. :(

I wonder if we would ever be able to upgrade the tranquilizer gun. It's like a Nerf gun. Those darts drop like rocks! It would be neat to research the Lost World tranq gun at some point.

I am pretty sure there are options to, I think in one of the videos this week it showed some of the upgrades for it.

I wish we had lethal firearms but at least we have a tranquilizer gun for now.
(Maybe just Bolt action rifles, shotguns and Semi automatic rifles)
