Since we have a devonian fish, and a sabertooth (animated series), why not bring in prehistoric versions of modern animals? Some animals alive today existed not just during AND after the dinosaurs, but some even before them. We have "Living Dinosaurs" around us today besides modern day birds. Crocodiles have been around since Triassic Era, sharks existed before TREES, and there's birds in particular that were basically the last-ditch effort for dinosaurs to return known as the TERROR BIRD.
1. Deinosuchus (14.12 Meters) This prehistoric crocodilian was large enough to eat dinosaurs, and could probably be strong enough to bring down a Tarbosaurus if not a Rex. It is the largest of the prehistoric crocodilians next to some others which I'll bring up below.
2. Purusaurus (13 meters): An ancient caiman existed after the dinosaurs, showing how even right after the asteroid, some of these guys were still massive and powerful. While a saltwater croc can go 20ft long, they got nothing on this guy.
3. Sarcosuchus (11-12 meters): A third iconic killer croc. This animal likely lived alongside Spinosaurus and was more than capable of bringing down dinosaurs.
4. Kelenken aka "Terror bird" (9.8ft tall): These massive carnivorous birds battled with sabertooth cats and even fed on horses. They were an apex land predator and showing how some dinosaurs didn't just die out, but survived and continued to evolve. Birds are dinosaurs.
5. MEGALODON (60ft): Sharks existed before trees and this one is the most iconic of ancient sharks. If you're willing to bring in an ancient fish from Devonian, here's one from after the dinosaurs that was a true killing machine. This thing could win against Mososaurus in a battle...
