Loaded Gamma 2.02 and got my first OSCD

Are you seeing the intro vids or is it crashing just before the menu? 2.01 had an issue with video codecs and people on newer CCCP versions had to uninstall it.

The devs just posted that if the spinning ship ends up crashing/freezing there is a known issue with the save file and decals, fix is on the way. Although if the ship continues to spin then some other issue exists.

There are quite a few of us that have no decal and this issue affects us as well - I hope they are able to fix both issues soon :)

Try creating a private game (ie not solo or open) and start that way.

This was a work around for the spinning ship in beta 2, and is working for me at least with gamma 2. Got the spinning ship trying to start solo, but able to get in fine by creating private group. Also, once I'm in I can quit to menu and start in solo (haven't tried open) - works fine until I close the client and completely restart in which case I get the spinning ship again unless I start through private group.
