While we don't get it pick the ship or crew we'd like to join, except for friends invites, I'm hoping one day, we can see a list of ships asking for crew, and then post a short "tag line" relating to what we want to do.
The Lobby - Joining
Instead of just being thrown into a random ship, you'd get a lobby of all available ships wanting crew.
You can sort these by distance from you (in Ly, no system name given), or ship, or activity, and so on, and select one to read it's tag line (see below).
Then hop in and off you go.
Hosting and Tag Line
When looking for crew for your ship, your location, and ship are broadcast in the lobby for others to join.
You can also have a short sentence saying what you're looking for, such as "Crew for CZ needed", "looking for fighter pilot", "I haz packhounds!", or "Skilled gunner only", and so on.
This would making finding crew and ships more pleasant. Because as of now, you can end up anywhere, which might not be where you want to be.
