A new rare good was discovered during the weekend, Saxon Wine. Only it wasn't new, apparently it's been around since the beginning of the game. The system, 9 Aurigae, is one that is controlled by a player group. Yet this group either didn't know or didn't care that this rare good existed in their system. There is certainly nothing in the local station news about this rare good.
A few of us have just spent the last 4 weeks changing the government of Delta Pavonis so that it is now anarchy rather than Federal. So now the Pavonis Ear Grubs are available on the market once more. There was nothing in the local station news about this rare good.
The factions would either be proud or ashamed of the rare goods that came from their systems. They would certainly know about them. There should be the occasional news bulletins about how well these rare goods were selling, or that illegal ones were being smuggled, or even attempts by authority to eliminate rogue sources of these rare goods.
There are at least two more undiscovered rare goods that are known to exist, yet the source of these goods is not known. They should be known by locals, or there should at least be clues in the game. I'm about to lead a group of players in what will be a lengthy attempt to change the government of a system with 8.4 billion population. It would be nice to know we weren't doing this in vain.
So please add a news bulletin about local rare goods. It doesn't need to say much. When the system is in boom, mention that the sales of the rare good is doing well. When the rare good is blocked because it's illegal in the current government, mention that the authority are seeking information on smugglers or illicit production of the goods.
