Local ships should be usable regardless of previously 'active ship' having cargo

The restriction should be being unable to move ships with cargo in them, and not stopping us from using locally stored ships. What ship is the current one is also not marked very well. If a ship is docked at the current station it should be usable. Being locked out of my 7 local ships because my 'current ship' stored elsewhere has a few limpets on it is beyond insane. A cargo exemption for limpets would also make sense, or the option to dump/destroy/sell the cargo would be the bare minimum that is needed.
 
Exactly. Sell at station price remotely, dump for 0 price if selling is impossible, and exempt limpets.

It doesn't sound hard, but it's not ship skins for extra money, so it seems to be a little challenging for fdev.
 
Frankly, it's beyond me, how cargo transfer between ships docked at same station, as well as to external storage, could not have been implemented. You'd think it's such a basic, logical thing that a ship captain should be able to do at a port. Being able to switch ships without carrying cargo over is also logically obvious.
