Locate SRV after on foot death

Mine ship was on the planet surface , I deployed SRV and then disembark... unfortunately I has been killed. I had only option to revive in Ship, what a suprice I'm on planet oribit now! So I'm heading to death place but mine SRV is gone.... How to locate it, I tried to search in ship, on foot... no luck.

If you are too far away, it will self destruct. If you are in orbit, and it was not pulled inside the ship, then I'd say it's gone.

I was on orbit and land in same place, when I disembark and try search on foot no luck. I go back to ship and I have comm that if I leave I loose SRV. Well after 15min searching I left it because we have... Odyssey, lot of new things but no markes where is our vehicle... great.

Your SRV get destroyed if you are too far. Source, see the geyser you have sometimes ? Well, I went on top of one of them. Honestly, the fall wasn't the problem, it's the landing the real issue.The SRV went "boom" while I was mid way in the air.

Yours probably went the same way than mine. It's cheap to replace, so, no big deal.

A SRV isn't easy to replace when you're somewhere between Sag-A and Beagle Point (like me currently), so this is important information!

If you die in "spaceleg" you respawn in orbit. If you had the SRV deployed, well, that can be a problem.

OP try to relog in "vanilla" to see if the SRV was still there and automatically put into the ship. This is what the game does when you do that with the SRV out. I used that for when I'm stuck with it.

I'v yet to retrieve my SRV after leaving it on foot & then dying...........just one of those things........it's gone!

If you die in the srv, you lose it (obviously since the srv was destroyed)
IF you disembark from the srv and die on foot, you lose the srv too...

IF you leave your srv on the ground and embark your ship (while on foot) and launch it, your srv left behind will be destroyed
IF you leave your srv on the ground and call an Apex, your srv will be destroyed the moment you board the Apex.

I know that if I move 15kliks I will loose SRV. In mine case aftter death and landing on the same pIanet I had messages from ship that mine SRV is still on the planet which means it's a BUG.

Do I even dare ask.. why? That sounds.. silly. If you have an SRV deployed, you should respawn in that, not your ship. And nice design on your lifeline planet side, walk too far and it gets lonely and self destructs :D

Let's hope nobody decides this would be a good idea for your ship, too.

I've lost my srv several times.
Lost my ship once.

Only the ship remains in the orbit of the planet you died onto (and you have to recall or transfer it)
The SRV is not a persistent asset.

Yea, why I have to revieve in ship if SRV hasnt be destroyed.

Man I know what ship told me.
Again...
  • I deploeyd SRV
  • disembark from SRV
  • has been killed by NPC on foot
  • revive on orbit
  • land on the same place with ship
  • killed those NPC on foot
  • go back to mine ship
  • take off and now I have message, "Your SRV is still deployed, if you leave your SRV will be destroyed!"

This is not something that I imagine, besides I have all of those in mine pilot logs ...
