All, I have been having some trouble locating some files to place joystick configurations posted on here. In my search i am seeing a lot of discussion about placing Elite on its own drive or one with little use. I have one available that has 95% free space on it. I am thinking that i need to move this over to that drive and create the products folder mentioned in some posts. Plus I am reading that this eliminates some of the lag issues I am seeing now. So the question is this... can this be moved after it has been loaded? or should i just uninstall and re-install it to the new drive? Here is one post i found on the matter.. I am assuming this is an install process.
Currently the installer doesn't support install directory selection >altough this functionality is planned. In the meantime you can >workaround this with the following procedure:Run the Client-Installer.exe Choose the drive and or folder you wish to use. In my case D:\Elite Let the launcher install finish, if it is running, close the launcher >window, do not login Navigate to where you installed the launcher, in my case D:\Elite, and >create a folder called Products in the launcher folder. EG: - >D:\Elite\Products Now start the launcher again, log in and install the client. When the download is complete you should see the install as >automatically installed the client in the folder you created called >Product. If the \Products folder is not in the root of the launcher folder it will >default to your boot drive.
