Lock factors?

I was under the impression that lock factors had something to do with the mass of a ship.

But is seems that it is some electronic device that interferes with another ship's drives.

For example, an Anaconda has a lock factor of 23, but a 2000T fully laden and hardened Space Cow has a lock factor of 15. (According to Coriolis.io)

Therefore, lock factors are an active ship function built into the hull of the ships to prevent others escaping.

Carrying on this, then, if I disable the power plant of an Anaconda, it should release me from its grip.

Disabling a power plant only results in a 50% loss of power, doesn't matter anyway, the power plant has nothing to do with FSD inhibition. The whole FSD disruption mechanic has never been completely clear, only thing for certain is that mass is not the deciding factor.
