Lockable Seasons, with seasonal foliage, and undergrowth ideas...

hey all, while walking my Corgi in the dark i hurt my hand when i accidently picked up a Tezel head with a poobag, Och.. throbbing fingers.. a thought came to me, we need more undergrowth plants for our zoos, throny and prickly ones like mooreland Bushrush, sprawling brambles, and maybe even vally heather, would love to recreacte some of my Welsh hearthlands.. but more ideas we need a terrern type thats so obvioes but missing it bugs me.. and thats waterway Cobble/pebble stone, and broken bark and leaf-litter forest floors.. maybe even a moss cover terrain type... i can well imangie others wishing to make builds more local to them, and these are my local surgestions.. likewise i wish the foliage ingame would change with the seasons, like the tundra-fire effect of the northen bearberrys in fall, and the making of an auturninal wood.. but to keep it in colour, i wish we had a game setting to lock seasons in place, so as to create more scripted zoo thyimes for our builds... i can well image many others agreeing as they have on the fan discords, and their own undergroth ideas to add here... and lastly a flower suggestion.. Daffodils, common i'm Welsh their a must in my dream zoo's

Changing it via the seasons might be a challenge but as I would also like to make a real-time northern hemisphere seasonal zoo, I suggest autumnal versions of trees plus winter trees without leaves which you could switch yourself.

Look like a more viable option.

I'm not against the idea of seasonal changes/lockables/etc., but at this stage of the game that looks like a big overhaul of multiple features. Sounds unlikely to happen

More undergrowth would be really great (hopefully also some new tropical Plants). Just one Question. What are Tezels? When I google it, I do only get Stuff about some Actor I don't care about and writing Plant behind it also doesn't help

It would also be great if we could plan for Plants and Objects to only show up during specific Times in the Year (maybe also specific Temperatures) because I'm currently building the most likely most realistic Zoo I've ever built and it is a bit weird to have potted Palm Trees and other Foliage that doesn't survives the Winter just stand there the whole Year. Same could be done with some Objects from the Arctic Pack like Christmas Trees and Christmas Decorations

You could just remove them, that’s what I’m doing with the zoo I’m currently working on that will hopefully be a long term project. I have a Christmas tree and some decorations around the shop and café and will just remove them in January.

It's not such a big Problem with the Christmas Stuff but with all the tropical Plants outside

Again, just move them. You could group them all together and just shift them to one side. Or you could build a greenhouse to store them.
I've built a Greenhouse yesterday. The Idea to put all of them in a Group is good. Maybe just a bit difficult to get them in exactly the same Spot where they were before and of course annoying considering we don't have real Seasons but random Snow during August which already is gone after a few Minutes. Also if you have the Plants all over the Park and group them together, it could get difficult to move them all into a Greenhouse. That's why I think the Option I've suggested would be great for People who like to build realistic

But if you think about it, if you had tropical plants inside a reptile house they would also disappear. So I don’t think it’s that practical but I know what you mean.

I was thinking more about choosing which Plants to move/remove so something like this wouldn't happen

I would definitely welcome more undergrowth options, particularly those that don't block animal traversability. I know a lot of people use sunken trees for this, but I'm always worried that I'm going to cut off access/space. I've even thought about some of the undergrowth options that we have for exhibit box animals, like leaf debris, that might make for interesting placement in habitats as well.

Having ones that change through in-game seasons seems rather ambitious and a lot for the devs to develop, but having seasonal options where you can choose which one to use depending on the look you're going for seems like it might be quite possible.

ok my bad i spelt the plants name badly wrong, this is the "Teasel" i was refering too.. https://www.wildlifetrusts.org/wildlife-explorer/wildflowers/teasel

nice to see that i still made a good convisation though.. i'm still high up on the topic with shubbery possavlietys, along with more floor terrain types.. we realy should have ones i still feel strongly neccsery.. like pine and leaf litter forest floors, and mossy and pebble terrain types for water ways riverbottems and even bog terrain and waterlogged earth.. and another i feel important is what i call branch litter floor, where areas of logged or burnt forestly is left as stumps, branches and shatter loggs for crunchy floor cover, such would be great for assets in the biomes and enviroments i love to replacte..

No Wonder I didn't find anything about this Plant🙃
These Ideas do all sound great. But the Moss floor isn't as necessary as the other ones because we do already have Moss in the Plants Menu and also Moss Rocks that are perfect for something like this because they don't count towards the Vegetation Limit

aye the main floor terrain i hope to gain, as ive falled to replicate in game.. are cobble and pebble stones, for coasts and riverbottoms.. and ofc the forest floor types, another i thought of today is shale, for mountainsides.. likewise my atempt to creacte a broken branch floor terrain, proved a failier as we only have so many brach/log/stump etc to use, and most are too big for the effect i'm trying to convay.. currently building a yellowstone inspired peace, as part of my open plan zoo.. but it'll be connected to a bear scavvarnged stone coast with estery.. and a sea island offshore once i have the new dlc.. which is why i need the pebblestone and broken branch terrain effects.. then up into the mountains will my zoo go west.. into pines and conifers.. with my bison and carribu gezzer plains below.. with wolves upriver to the east side.. like what ive done so far?
