Dear fellow Commanders,

since the 2.3 Update, for "us" there is a special bug introduced. It goes by the given name "Menu soft lock".

There is a work-around, which works for some, but not for all.

As it seems, that this "total lock out" is not even acknowledged by FDev, i would like to get everybody affected onboard this thread.
Purpose is, that a larger group is probably more recognized, than the occasional postings in multiple threads.

Please sign in here, ONLY when the work around does in fact NOT work for you.

Maybe FDev will take notice, and maybe we will get a reaction from them.

And even when not: than we (at least) definitely know what we are worth to them as paying customers ... :x

Hi everyone,

Thank you so much for all the feedback since last week’s release of 2.3 The Commanders. We appreciate every bug report that comes through, and read as many forum posts as possible!

We’ve seen your feedback with regards to a number of bugs in the latest update, and the development team have been busy working on a release that focuses on fixing a large number of the common complaints. The release is currently scheduled for early May. These fixes include (but are not limited to) the list you can see below:

- Galaxy map UI tag not pointing to selected target body
- Packhounds having infinite ammunition
- Multicrew bug fixes
- Various Stability improvements across the board
- Missing Galnet articles will be fixed
- XBOX main menu softlock will be fixed
- Large frame rate drop when friends log in to the game

As mentioned above, there are other fixes and performance-related improvements included in the update. We’ll have the full list of changes for you as soon as it’s available closer to the release of the update in early May. Please do continue to support the game by reporting any bugs on our dedicated bug forum.

Whenever somebody mentions that bug, regardless where, they will everytime get the same answer (from whomever): Use the work around.
My Ticket got closed - Use the work around.

It is not acknowledged that some players are locked out entirely. Hence the name "SOFTlock", which is in fact for some a "HARDlock" (if you would like to stay in that terminology)

The Game is for the affected players disabled by the Update 2.3. As i already mentioned somewhere else: a paid product, mind you.

So from my point of view, this thread is 100% eligble.
 
Honestly tc what do you hope to achieve with this petition other than creating a(nother) rant echo chamber.

Yes it sucks big time that these issues exist, but just because support team are fobbing you off cause they've no way of helping you, doesn't mean that frontier aren't working on a solution. There's nothing we can do other than wait for the fix to drop. Stamping your feet won't make the time pass any faster.
 
Why does he (she) need to prove the workaround dosent work for them to you?
I have loads of people on my xbox feed saying the workaround doesn't work should I post a picture as well?

Or they just don't understand how to do it properly, or still going off of xbox live downtime and blaming FD?

Last night Xbox live was down for DLC and purchased content for all games. This stopped me from being able to play the game with horizons before and after deleting the save file. In the end I gave up. No idea how long xbox live was down for, but now am able to play as normal. Do believe FD even made a post about this xbox live down time, which they can't control.

So yeah, a bit of proof would be good.

While I am aware the soft lock sucks, everytime i've had to use the quick fix it worked except last night due to xbox live, not FD.

I know what you mean and I may of jumped to an unpleasant assumption and if that's case I apologise to TERMINATRIXXX , but I know a least one of the people who have said this workaround didn't work for them has tried it several times since the day the tempory fix was discovered (I told them about it in my feed and we have since become xbox friends) and has had no joy..
For what it's worth my personal opinion is the same as mungos it sucks (really sucks) but all they can do is wait for a proper fix.
I've stuck to private mode and not tried multi and so far this update has improved all aspects of the game for me.

So when I do encounter the soft lock and go to delete my save file, i often find i have to click 'delete everywhere' twice. Think its an xbox issue as the first time i go to delete it it just refreshes with the save file still there. Basically select delete everywhere until that save file has gone, regardless of how many times. I wouldn't be surprised if that's caused the issue of it still not working after the first deletion for a few people. It's gotten me a couple of times.
 
For so long as some of us need a workaround to play, which we shouldn't, I personally will not let my underwear get all knotted up and just go play something else. Thanks to the issues that this game has had on and off recently, I've gotten a chance to get reacquainted with some other games that I haven't touched in a while. Like World of Tanks. I'd forgotten how much I enjoyed that game.

Fev already announced that patch 2.3.0.1 will fix this, so where are we LOCKED OUT?

Also like to add, whilst I do agree with the frustration this issue causes, it may not be completely down FD. The issue, as stated by someone clever, was, i think, a corruption between syncing saved files between FD servers and the xbox clouds where our saves are automatically stored... this isn't a one sided thing, so really don't think people should be shooting FD down because of this as its not solely their fault (in my opinion).
 
May is 1 week away, judging by them pushing a release for pc bug fixes forward to this coming week, id suspect xbox will be following, so 10 days.

Regardless, fix works if you know how to do it properly. Guarantee most aren't due to XBOX problems, not FD, or just player incompetence :rolleyes:
 
well there are people unable to play until that patch thats where the lock out comes in

They're working on a patch to fix the issue and gave a timeframe as to when they think they'll be done. I'd imagine that if they thought they could fix it sooner then that they would have given an earlier date.

I was answering a question, about where the lock out comes in, do you see any other posts from me in this thread demanding fd do something about it?
 
My guess is mid may for our patch.

PC just takes precedence. Possible their bugs were simpler to fix.
But, I don't know. No one has given any info of any measure so I guess we get to hurry up and wait?
