Logging out in a settlement...

Ok, I know they don't want folks to use logout to loot farm... but Odyssey is so buggy right now that its like a 50:50 on whether you can make it through a base restore without something going wrong and needing a relog to fix it... when this happens you lose the reactor and you need to leave the planet and come back to get the stuff to respawn... its total pain in the ass... Even if they could restore the power core to your inventory, since the base loses power soon as you log off...
 
I agree that it's not good. The only problem is we don't know if this is intended or not because it was never mentioned in the patch notes (along with several other things that have changed recently). I'm not a fan of things changing without patch notes because then you don't know if it's intended or not, or whether to report it or not. In this case, there's a suggestion it's intended to "fix" relogging (not confirmed by Fdev though, so not fact), which it doesn't actually do anyay. There's still a chance it's just a bug.

Either way, it's not fun.

What's going wrong? I've done hundreds of these and I can't think of any that have needed a relog 🤔
 
Just now, I was getting out of my SRV and it just black screened. I could hit esc to get to the options, but it never finished transitioning from SRV to on foot. Yesterday, I fell through the floor of a building when accessing a data port and couldn't move. I've had the persistent fires bug (which I relogged to try and fix but it actually doesn't help with that) and a smattering of server boots as well...
 
I had a crash just when the reactor came online once. Was a major annoyance. Game doesn't know or care why you went poof.
yeah, well 'once'. Game throws a wobbly every now and then but I'm not seeing that particularly related to surface missions. I don't think I've even had a 'cannot find the last fire' moment for days now 🤔

I don't mind them annoying the reloggers by wiping the sites, the content is fun enough done properly.

If they really wanted to annoy us they could have just done it based on the week+ timers they used to have for legacy settlement data points :D

Then you end up like the new 'Infiltrate data link' missions they added on megaships - apparently forgetting that the data link can only be scanned once ....

I'd hate to be only able to repair a base once a week, I'd still be on 1 OP ...

I'm fine with the loot disappearing - that makes sense... but having to keep farming up reactors because the one that I get given disappears before I'm finished clearing the settlement is an absolute pain... fix that and I'm happy...

Make sure the issues are reported in the tracker & hopefully they'll get looked at - I've never fallen through a settlement (I have fallen out of a station and an SRV, but the game recovered itself), and I think maybe once I had a black screen on SRV exit. If fdev testers are having a similar experience to me they'll be unaware of the issues unless reported (which is what seemed to catch them out on the whole EDO release!)

Hehe, I just meant the way of limiting loot. Missions should be repeatable (and, I'd suggest, when you arrive and have a new mission, the loot appears again for you - but only once per mission)

That'd stop relogging and encourage doing missions for loot.

Although I'd also want other things changed too (like OPs and the ability to trade all mats)
