Hardware & Technical Logic3 HOTAS?

For about the same price you could get a Thrustmaster T Flight HOTAS X. I'm happy with mine and am using a cheap PS3 controller, vertically mounted in front of the throttle, for extra buttons and analogue thrusting.

Yeah, but it has an ambidextrous joystick, unlike the HOTAS X.

I have just got hold of one of these, I'm quite happy with it :)
It was the right price (free - I paid £28 from ebay... when it arrived it didn't work. I asked for a replacement, but none available, so was given full refund. The seller didn't want it back, so it became a project for me to fix :) )
It does feel cheap, but since digging around inside it, I'm confident it will last a while.
The throttle unit is too light, and the action a bit too stiff, so has a tendency to slide around. The tension adjuster is useless. I will be operating on this to fix.
The joystick is comfortable and has a twist rudder control. It has suckers for feet which seem to work ok.
The buttons, dials and controls don't give a nice positive feel, but all work perfectly, I don't think they will give me any problems. The trigger and pinkie buttons are micro-switches that are a bit too light, but again should last.
The driver is very simple, but does offer the option to remap the controls. It can set macros up too (apparently, I havn't tried to yet)
There are plenty of controls, 2 POV hats (one on the joystick, one on the throttle) 3 trim controls, and lots of buttons, all nicely placed.
It has vibration feedback, which works better than I was expecting.. and it looks good too :)
I have good hopes for this joystick & throttle, and because of a generous ebay seller, with a little bit of tweaking I should end up with a bit of a belter of a controller :)

Bit more on this...
I have just bought the elite:dangerous beta, and after configuring the controls (which were a pain) took to the sky :)
I have to say that this joystick (logic3 flight system) is fairly pants :(
There is zero sensitivity at the centre, move the joystick a little & nothing happens. Move the stick more, and the ship jumps to the side... Because you can see the virtual stick not moving when you are moving the controler, I know its not me blaming tools for incompetance :(
Adjusting the dead zone in the game hasn't helped, the driver itself shows the properties target jumping around in the middle. There is no calibration option in the driver, and Elite: Dangerous needs that centre accuracy.
I should say though, it is probably only Elite: Dangerous it is not good for - when I've played flight sims in the past I can't remember ever needing it to be so sensitive at the middle...

Sorry to dig up this old thread but I'm also curious about to the quality of this HOTAS and the throttle in particular. Any feedback from someone who didn't get a broken unit?

How did it turn out, did you manage to salvage it or is it hopeless? Im tempted to get one just for the throttle as I already have a joystick and I don't want to spend £100+ on the CH Pro.
This hotas is as cheap as the Thrustmaster T-Flight but the throttle seems to have a better button configuration. Thoughts?

I would really like to know if the throttle could be used on its own too

any news on this

Saw this on eBay and thought it looked familiar - you can find a red model (with "Vibration effect make the game exciting"!) from any number of Chinese eBay sellers / online retailers.

Joystick appears to be available as standalone so I could only say "maybe" - perhaps contact a shop that's selling it?
