Newcomer / Intro Logitech 3D Bindings

Hello CMDRs,

Just bought this joystick as I will be traveling a bit in the next 12 months and it's just easier and more portable. I have looked at the bindings CMDRs shared via EDRefCard and I really need help to understand how CMDRs are able to create multiple assignments i.e. HAT (Thrust, Turrets, UI, PIP) as the in-game binding under options I can only do two. I've downloaded the Logitech software but not sure how to set this up.

Thank you CMDRs.

Some, if not all, of the multiples can be explained by different modes, e.g. normal flight, using FSS, using DSS, viewing Galaxy Map etc.

Thanks CMDR, example in normal space flight - how would you be able to use PIP (ENG, WEP, SYS, RST) and Thrust (UP, DOWN, LEFT RIGHT)? And also control the UI too.

The UI only work when you are in one of the panel interfaces, so that is a context sensitive override, not sure with the others it could be a shift key in addition to the joystick command.
Is there a key to the diagram explaining what the colours indicate?

You wouldn't. Looking at the corresponding .binds file (link at the bottom of the ref card page) shows that this refers to the SRVs pips only while Ship pips are controlled with the keyboard.

Thank you CMDR. Need to get used to a single joystick while traveling vs. my hotas set up at home.

OK, so here is a copy of my current bindings, they work fine from where I'm sitting, feel free to tweak as you feel the need. FYI: remove the last 4 characters from the file Mine 3.2.binds.txt [remove: ".txt"], insert into the folder you save your binds to and restart the game. I like to keep mine in a separate folder then the main game folder, so if FDevs ever try to change things, my binds are not in the ED folder.. And I also keep a second copy away from that folder, too. :)
If there's anything else I might help you with, just holler!
