Hardware & Technical Logitech Extreme 3D Pro OR Thrustmaster T-Flight Hotas X?

So I'm ready to get myself a Flight stick for Elite. I was looking at these two, but haven't really decided yet...
I'm fairly new to the game, but I want a better experience.
What would people recommend here?

No clue about the Logitech, but I've got a well used and still perfectly serviceable 'T Flight Stick X', the predecessor to the HOTAS X. It's a lovely stick with lots of nice features, plenty of buttons and a chunky grip, ideal for my sausage fingers/bear paws! :D The only drawback is the throttle slider's a bit pants. If the HOTAS X had been available when I bought it I probably wouldn't have bothered buying another stick or HOTAS, since my one gripe would have been sorted.

It's a really good bit of kit, I'm sure the HOTAS X is just as sorted.

Lots of reviews say it feels 'cheap'. I'm not so sure about that. What constitutes 'cheap' is very subjective. I like the feel and the action of it's buttons, the stick centres well and there's a tensioner if you prefer it a wee bit stiffer than stock. I'm not sure what the reviewers experience is, but I'm comparing it to (amongst others) my Saitek Cyborg 3D Force Stick, (a very expensive force feedback stick when it was new), the X-55 Rhino (probably the best ED HOTAS out there is the very similar X-56, imho) and the VKB Gunfighter Pro. All of my sticks/HOTAS's cost me many times what the Thrustmaster did, but I wouldn't say any of them make it feel 'cheap'. It can hold it's own, even against kit costing more than ten times as much.

Hth.

I was about to get the HOTAS X, but the store I was at had a sale. I ended up getting the Saitek X52 for 40% off.

The Logitech Extreme 3D Pro has too few buttons and they are inconveniently placed, as is the throttle. It is cheap and rugged, though. I replaced my Logitech Extreme 3D pro with a Saitek X-56 HOTAS.

:D Happy new HOTAS mate!

Let us know how you get on with it?

Will do, thanks! So far I'm still getting used to it, but it's definitely easier to use than a mouse or a gamepad.

Someone else told me the same thing actually. Glad I dodged that bullet lol...
