Hi guys, so i just got the G13 keypad for my upcoming birthday, so i just wanted to ask if anyone else is using this excellent bit of kit, and have any profiles or ideas to share.
For those that have not used one before, they are a gaming keypad with 22 programmable keys, a mini stick that can be used as a mouse or joystick.
You can have 3 sets of different coloured keys for every profile, that's 66 keys, and you can assign multi key macro's to all of them.
So here is what i have been working on for my elite set up.
You can switch between key sets easily with the M1-3 buttons.
I have not used all the keys in each set, as i find it easier this way to remember the keys. What i have done is put all the commands i thought i would need during combat in the first key set (top) using the mini stick for power controls, (shields, weapons, ect) and have that light up RED (red alert).
Next (middle pic) i have used for commands in normal flight, navigation and docking. This lights up blue. (i have a macro for full auto docking like in VA)
Third set lights up sky blue, and i use this for coms, and preset messages mainly.
The G13 has a handy tool for writing a text block and will paste this when the assigned key is pressed.
Also has a built in macro key recorder.(similar to Voice Attack)
Also the mini LCD screen has the galnet news feed displaying, as well as PC info and other stuff.
This really is a great piece of kit, and has freed up my joystick for the main combat needs., like targeting, fire groups ect.
