Hardware & Technical Logitech G933 Artemis Wireless headset

Greetings Cmdrs.

I have been using this headset for a couple of months now . I have an irregular issue that so far has only happened when I play Elite Dangerous. Windows Audio Services just stops, thus losing all functionality.

It’s happened since day one, I have been in close contact with Logitech who simply said to force a firmware update and reset the headset 3 times. They’ve kinda thrown their hands in the air now and are loosely talking about returning them.

As a note, the ONLY time this happens is when I change an instance, usually on interdiction , or on dropping into a USS. It doesn’t happen every time but is really grinding my gears

I run W7 ultimate x64 , i7, and a GTX1050 Ti . All windows updates are current as are the audio drivers. In game settings are set to default except the DTS that’s enabled.

Fabulous headset when it doesn’t kick out

Can anyone help please

Hi,

I don't own a headset like this, but I've found an interestingly complicated solution for G933 issues on the Logitech site. It looks so tricky, that it might work :) .

remove all versions of LGS from computer
- download newest version of LGS from product support page but don't install it yet
- remove driver for headset through Device Manager
- disconnect the usb receiver and usb cable from the computer
- disconnect all cables from the headset
- remove the battery from the headset (in order to ensure the part is properly inserted, connected and fitted in)
- clean boot computer
- install previously downloaded LGS
- reboot computer
- place battery back in headset and charge it fully.
- connect usb receiver to computer
- connect usb cable to headset and computer
- find the firmware update in the folder where LGS is installed
- execute firmware update and make sure it is not interrupted
- test headset after firmware update is completed

It seems to me like a very clean re-install process. Maybe helps, maybe not, this would be the first thing I'd do :) !

Wish you luck!

Ah my old buddy  good to hear from you again.

I am in direct contact with Logitech support on this , i have done all you suggest before to no avail, this is really my last ditch hope that maybe someone here has fixed the issue as it ONLY happens when I’m playing Elite, and usually when I’m dropping into battle ....very frustrating as you can imagine. Yesterday for example I played music for two hours, whilst doing some editing and it never dropped once. Yet whilst playing Elite it can drop 3-4 times per session.

I have run a dxdiag and it doesn’t report any problems.

Thanks Cmdr ..hope to catch up soon

Hi,

mysterious things happen. Few years ago, my old GTX970 video card started to MELT(!), even the service guys were highly surprised, they haven't ever seen something like that. Once I had issues with a Logitech Harmony remote control, in that case the customer support was very kind, and they sent me a new RC, it worked flawlessly.

In worst case, you can give the Logitech headphones to a non-Elite playing friend of yours as a gift, and get yourself some different one. Win-win :) .

I am perplexed, after taking notes and timings, it only happens when I enter combat, never ever at any other time. I can go to a res site, drop in, start scanning, pick a target them bang goes all the audio, windows audio services stopped, which then means i have to finish the combat in stony silence.

Ive run dxdiag but it doesnt capture the issue, says no problems persist, so after like two months now of trials and tibulations, Im going to contact Frontier support and see if they can pin it down.

thanks cmdr
