Hardware & Technical Logitech G940 HOTAS resetting center spring strength randomly

I am using the G940 joysticks and while I like them a lot, if I play games that do not support ForceFeedback, the center spring of the joystick resets itself every few minutes. I then have to alt+tab to the desktop, change the spring strength in the Logitech Profiler software and it works again (for a few minutes)

Does anyone else have this problem and have you found a better and more permanent solution?

My generic prayer for a permanent solution is that all these space sims and other flight sims take off in a big way and we get decent robust joysticks with robust drivers chasing that market.

Yeah I hear you :)
From what I read on the Logitech forums, this only happens with games that do not have ForceFeedback with this stick. Apparently for some games, it works to provide a "dummy FF file", does anyone know how that works and how I do it?

I love the stick to death but the center spring is amazingly strong and having to reset it every few minutes gets on my nerves and seeing the desktop regularly destroys the immersion, too.

My first post here. Hello all :)

I have the same G940 and it keeps loosing controls. This is a brand new G940 which has been sitting in the box for the past two years. I only used it for a few weeks in a flight sim and it is an amazing peice of kit. But my computer broke and I boxed it away until now.

I have died 10 times due to my controls losing their settings and crashing in stations. So frustrating. All my hard work for nothing. Hehe.

Anyway, I did send a ticket a week ago and heard nothing since. Maybe they should credit us a million credits for everytime the game crashes or your controls are lost. That would be so fair.

Still I love this game. But I did ask them how are we supose to beta test if the basic controler software does not work? Surely an old joystick like a G940 should be bulletproof for any flight sim?

Hope this is fixed soon and good luck over the next few days to the DEVS

Hi Papa,

can you clarify what kind of problems you are experiencing? Are you referring to the same difficulties I am having with the central spring and the ForceFeedback?

Btw, I did some digging and found that while the hardware is awesome, the drivers and control software for the G940 however is not and still contains bugs acknowledged by their developers. The ForceFeedback bug for non-FF games is among them, but that thread has not been updated since 2012...
So this is probably not Frontiers fault, but if they could provide a dummy FF file, that does not need to add any FF effects at all, will probably solve our problem,

I can't feel any FFB? it is off or very light.

My problem is my throttle simply going off and thrusters loosing their settings. When this happens in a station I drift into a wall and die. Every death I have had happened like this. Yet it is mostely fine and works. Then all of a sudden the controls change on their own and seem to re-callibrate on another axis. I try to quickly exit the game but it's too late in those situations.

But I know I am in beta so accept my fait. But I hope they can do something soon. I killed two and half Anacondas yesterday in open play and it would have been three if my fire button did not stop working. It seems the buttons reassign? It is very random. But many buttons simply do not work. So I have to find ones that do.

I did not know their were bugs in the Logitech software. I am no gammer. This is only my second game I have played as I am an iracer. That is where I heard about this game to try my Dk2. And I like it here :)
