Well, although both Brimstone and Clicker have the right to their opinions, I respectfully disagree with them. I found the Logitech Profiler extremely handy, but not for 'Power Curves' as Brimstone was thinking I was using it for. Let me explain:
With my profile, I have different buttons set up as keystrokes. For example, one button is assigned as a 'Shift' button, while another is set to "Target Hostile". When the Shift button is also pressed the 'Target Next Hostile" becomes "Target Previous Hostile". My Targeting of Subsystems works the same way as do other in ship functions. In this way I effectively double the amount of joystick buttons available on my Logitech 3D Pro. It is not just the trigger and other buttons I have as Shift Alternate, I also have the POV assigned like this as well. Unshifted, my POV acts as the Lateral Thrust controls (Up. Down, Left and Right) but when I use the Shift button with it, the POV becomes the Power Distribution (Normally the arrow/cursor keys on default controls if I remember rightly). This leaves my hands much more free for flight and combat which I prefer instead of having to look away from the screen to lay eyes on a particular key I want to use on the keyboard. But as I said, everyone has their own preferences.
Now with that said, I FINALLY got the Logitech Profiler to pass commands to Elite Dangerous. For those of you looking to do the same (I doubt there would be many) I managed to do this by setting both the Logitech Profiler software and Elite Dangerous to run with Compatibility Mode for Windows 7 and with Run as Administrator (I have Windows 8.1). IF this helps you, leave a note here, I'd be curious as to how many people have the same profiler setup as me.
