Okay so I just picked up the game and this is the first time I've played a space sim since x - wing alliance and I'm having trouble setting up my buttons to be most beneficial. I've been on google and searching forums for a setup that works for me with some success. My question is does anybody have this setup and if so what do you bind your pedals to? Should I use the rudder for Yaw or the twist stick and what about the toe breaks, should this be used for speed/reverse or stick with the throttle? Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. So far I've spent four hours in the game just messing with the VR settings and control scheme.

You don't really need pedals with an X52. I'd forget about them for now until you have enough experience with the game to decide where you could use them. I played for three years with only an X52.
I made my own custom keybind set, but 's on my other PC, so I can't share it with you just yet. There used to be a ready-made X52 ste that you could select from the menu. That option seems to have gone now.

There are some anomalies between the X52 drivers and ED, where buttons come and go on the throttle - only when setting up, not during gameplay. Different people suggest different solution. I just worked around them by choosing alternative buttons.
You will most likely still need to leave some controls to the keyboard, and it's actually easier to do some things with the mouse, like station menus and FSS,

I had issues at first with the throttle buttons not working, I found someone posting about turning off the clutch mode in the control panel options and it seemed to fix it. Not sure if I should just return the flight rudder pedals at this point or not or hang on to them for the next microsoft flight sim.
Am sure tHe x52 rudder controls are on the flight stick... u twist it left or right... not sure because I’ve never had 1
