Logitech X56 Owners/Users Slider Question?.

I have been using my new X56 for a few weeks now and have my binds set to my preferences and all works well. However on the thumb side of the Throttle there is a silver/grey slider switch which you can only move forward or back. In the forward position it registers in the Devices and Printers throttle icon settings but when I have tried to set it to something eg FA-On/Off in my game controls it never binds. I don't need this control as there are more than enough otherwise, I just wondered if any other X56 players know what it is supposed to be used for?.

I've never used the slider or the rheostats in ED. They might be usable with the X-56 profile software but I haven't tried it. It would be nice to have ED bindings for the game volume etc. Note the left pinkie finger wheel is digital so it can work.

Do the slider or the pinkie wheel do nothing when trying to bind in the controller setup? There seems to be a few buttons that don't do anything within the ED controller setup, and there are some of those I'd like to enable as well.

:D S

I have the vertical slider on throttle used as 0% or 75%.
But that slider horizontal doesn't seem to wanna work with anything. Would be good as fa on off for sure.
All the "wheels" on the throttle are tuning thingys in galmap vr

The pinky switch can be bound to something if you want, but frankly it's much more handy as a "shift" button to double your binds.

I have the slider set to zoom my scanner, not sure if that's what I really want. It has the advantage that your zoom level is always set, but the same setting doesn't always work all the time.

you can set the SLD switch in the Logitech software to press and hold a keyboard button when in the 'on' position and release when moved back. I have mine set for silent running. But a heads up, Logitech's software isn't very user friendly. It takes a sec to get used to it but it is a fairly powerful macro editor.

I have a X52 Pro and I use the slider as a toggle for FA Off. (I also set a button close by on the throttle as press for FA off.) You have to set the deadband very wide so ED only recognises the extremes of its range. I did this in Windose; USB Game Controllers > Properties.) IIRC ED only recognises the movement up or down and whichever way you activate the binds will be the one which switches it to FA off.

I was unable to find any specific use for the switch myself. I tried using it for reverse thrust but assigned it to the inside button nearest my "pinkie" finger instead.
