long insystem travelling

Hi, so i go to Alpha Centari to get a rare only to find that the trip to the station is like 0.21LY away. wow is there something that can be done to speed this up? or are we going to simply avoid these systems? just asking?

If you're still heading for AC, you should enter Alpha Centari in the search box of this website. Enough to read for the entire way and back ? ;)

But yes, it's a long haul to get there. But no cheating! ;)

Artificial time sinks so it takes you looonnngggggeeeeerrrrr to do stuff.

I tend to agree with this, although I may be biased since my play time is quite limited nowadays. I have a hard time suspending my disbelief that in a universe where technology has developed to the point where you can travel 20+ light years in a few seconds, that they can't find a better way than cruising an hour and a half to cover two tenths of a light year. There is quite a bit of the game that I won't get to see, simply because I can't dedicate the kind of time required to 'super cruise' for such a long time.

+1 to hoping that Frontier will come up with something clever to make crossing large in-system distances do-able in a reasonable amount of time.

I'm afraid it can only be explained as a game mechanic. There is absolutely NO reason to make a person stare are a screen for that amount of time unless there is a huge pair of 'tooties' to keep you entertained.

They really need to fix the long hyper cruse time between stations.
As soon as I see a station that's 50+k ls out. I rather jump 3 systems and find a station that's less than 10k ls. Even if I loose some profit.

I can understand unexplored areas you would need to make this long trek.
