Long live Elite Dangerous !

Its funny - the long small vocal "leave me the **** alone" trucking community in ED now needs to paint a clear picture of all their fears. Yet they fail to see they do themselves what they loath others to do. Rallying support on the forums and putting pressure on the developers. Dont do this or else .... Something something.

Have more faith in the developers. Wuld you as Braben be forced to make the game Goonsquad wants? Or the one the trucking-sim fans want? No both groups are a minority and makes no sence that their saying wuld have any impact at all. Unless its a good idea (then even one person can make a change).

Funny story here. I was Bing searching (because they pay me!) "elite dangerous long term" to search for plans to "semi" hopefully switch to a subscription based model. I also joined the forums just to reply to the OP's nonsense here. Please read on:

Fact:

1. I lightly play EVE (I subscribe, I learn skills and do some stuff, but I'm not on every night).
2. I am in a corp that is in an alliance that is loosely affiliated with GOONS through a coalition. Twice or so removed?
3. I don't care about #2.
4. EVE's PvP keeps the game interesting.
5. EVE's player-driven EVERYTHING keeps the game interesting.
6. EVE's subscription model keeps the game interesting (more updates... better servers... more gooder things that are good... and stuff)
7. At $60 as a one-time only and done purchase, this price wouldn't have even given me 6-months of game time in EVE.
7a. I want to enjoy this game for more than 6 months.
8. Do we have to abbreviate it as ED? Because I personally do not struggle with ED like other males may or may not. Just a thought.

As more players join in and as the community grows, my fear is the number of players could bog down the servers (or is it all peer to peer CoD-style online-y-ness?) I want to enjoy this game with a large community, with a group/corp/alliance/clan/people who talk on TS. From my two weeks or so of playing ED I can say that I like it. A lot... x30. I would also like to play this game with some people... alot.... x30. If GOONS want to allow more player involved stuff in the game, I find it hard to argue with. If it turns into more people playing the game, then yay. (Hercules hercules hercules)

4 observations that I think could help a long ways in Elite: Dangerous:

1. Create a bunny slope (ski term) for the nubz like me to trip and fall in.
2. Create big nasty warning signs that I might accidentally be leaving the bunny slopes and heading onto a black diamond course with cliffs and other skiers trying to push me off with their ski poles.... no wait.... those are machine guns! CRAP! It's an RPG!
3. I'm almost crying. Please.... please... please........... p-please... Let me search the market, the outfitting modules, and for friends that don't want me dead 5 minutes ago to steal my sidewinder... because it is...cool...? Also let me bookmark stuff. Because I'm nostalgic and such... and I get lost.
4. API-plug-in stuff?

Am I looking at Elite incorrectly? Or is Elite more of a game that you pay for once, play for a few months and then move on to Star Citizen? Because I like Elite... but also own Star Citizen.

Goons Considered Harmful

What I want to know almost two years after the original warning was posted is this: Have the Goons ruined Elite: Dangerous yet?

And if they have, how would we know?
