Long, long distance stations to avoid thread?

Is there a main thread somewhere like the active discounts thread for systems/stations to avoid because of how painfully long the SC journey is within system?

Already encountered the infamous Hutton Orbital in Alpha Centauri - so check, avoid that one.

And now just encountered Erivia system in empire space - both stations available are ~300k LS from hyper in point. Nowhere near as bad as Hutton but still a really, really long journey.

Am not counting kinda annoying ones like ~100k LS or less. Just the far more than 100k ones.

So my very short list so far is:
1. Hutton Orbital (Alpha Centauri)
2. All stations (Erivia)

Wow. I'm new to ED and have been irritated with having to go over 20K LS. Haven't hit some of the systems with the 100K+ LS distance stations. Not looking forward to that! :)

There are thousands of inhabited systems in this game so good luck trying to list it

I personally have seen like more than some dozens of such system and nope, by this I do not mean I have been to those systems, I just looked at them from the galaxy map and cannot afford to be bothered with them! lol

You could be right, but it doesn't seem like thousands, more like 300-400 hundred actual core worlds - each of the 8 Powers seems to have something like 30-40 systems under control, + say a decent number of anarchy and contested systems. Seems like only ~320 worlds we'd actually be delivering cargo to.

Because that's all that really applies when you're taking faction/smuggling/cargo missions - deliver X to Y - and so far while I'm very new, I've traveled extensively around Fed and Empire space, and only one on my list was Hutton Orbital as infamous .22 LY station.

As you said, you have dozens - but unless you've only visited a very tiny portion of that 300-400 PP worlds, that seems about right.

Given parameters, more than 100k LS station - actual delivery stations - I don't think it's going to be anywhere near the thousands you think it is

You're just a few orders of magnitude off. According to eddb, there are 19,000 inhabited systems discovered so far, with about 40,000 stations. Control systems are a small part of a power. Each control system controls a bubble 20 LY across, and can exploit dozens of systems.

holy crap, really? Well I'm certainly glad to be wrong then. Love there's so many more populated systems to be able to visit.

I've been grinding Empire rank and thought I'd visited most the empire worlds but man, at 19k that's rough avg more 2500 systems per power, although I suppose anarchy systems have to fit in somewhere too.

The overall map seems huge, but it just didn't look like that many systems for the core populated Powers bubbles - maybe my map filter just doesn't show me all the systems.

There are also quite a few inhabited systems not controlled by any power. The powers map filter just shows the control systems. Go to realistic or map and you'll get a better idea of how many systems there are.
