With the discovery and soon colonization of distant earth like worlds, communication will be difficult with the lack of the navigation beacon web.
But I have a plan.
Using perfectly synced FSD drives, I have created a sustainable compression of space, or wormhole if you use slang, allowing optical signals and small objects to pass faster than light through it. Not so amazing? Your ships can already do this? Well my dear Commanders, if you may jumps thousands of light years at a time, then I may leave. No? Then please, sit down again.
For my first test, I need two host stations, as far apart as possible in close orbit to a star, as a sustained field requires exhorbant amounts of energy. Once they have been selected, I will need all my parts and materials delivered to the stations so I may assemble the drives. During that, I request that commanders courier between locations, as fast as possible, to provide syncing data. The older it is, the less valuable.
(Part 1: Deliver from station X to either Y or Z
And speed run from Y to Z)
(If successful, a large relay appears at both systems)
Should that prove successful, I will create many drives, that all need to be brought piece by piece to the distant worlds, along with more parts being brought to a politically immune system, agreed upon by the factions, to create a nexus.
(Part 2: Long range delivery to far colonies and Large capacity delivery to immune system)
(If successful, a Nexus appears that looks like a giant spike ball, and relays appear at each far out system)
