Long Trip. Help. Me.

Sanity on long journeys? That is a luxury, not something to be expected. lol ;) :D

I play in VR, so things that require videos or second monitors are not worth the trouble for me. So what I do is listen to a lot of music, and make an effort to stop and look at things periodically. I spend a lot of time looking out the window while waiting for the FSD to spool up. For this reason, I like to plot routes through nebulae, even if the nebula isn't the actual destination (though I often use them as destinations too). I make a point of landing periodically, and explore around craters in the SRV.

After a while the travel becomes relaxing rather than tedious, and I don't mind the distances so much.

I do the exact same excluding the VR haha, getting horizons tomorrow so should be able to explore more, it'll make my journey less boring. I think you're more patient than me, I like to stop and admire.. for like 2 minutes than I'm gone :D

One thing for me, the WWE Network. I have so many PPV's and regular old shows to watch on there. Can't wait to get back out after just having returned from another long range exploration trip (though this last one was only 3 month). This time taking my new Anaconda to head back to Colonia, and transfer my exploration ASPx there and then, it'll be wrestling heaven once again for me...

FUI (Flying Under the Influence) is probably responsible for more shipwrecks than any other factor.

Totally agree. The only time I crash is FUI.

BTW I'm not casting any aspersions on FUI. I often have a glass of vino whilst flying but if you value your exploration data don't drink too much!

Of course if you are BH or Pirating go for it!

I'm saying audio book's as well. Sci Fi ones for sure, Red Mars was more like taking a history lesson than a fiction when playing the game.

LOL, actually I'm pretty guilty of that too. I'll push hard to get to my destination, for hours, and then stick around for 5 minutes to grab screenshots, then turn around and leave. :D

HF radio! Lots of stuff to listen to, as well as highly relevent to being out in the void (static, strange noises, and other things).

Silly rabbit. If you talk to any explorer you'll soon realize that 'sanity' is the first thing you give up to explore.
That is if the explorer in question had any sanity to begin with.
The question isn't how to stay sane, it's how to control the madness.
How do you do that?
I have no idea.
Good luck.

OMG! I thought I was the only one! Oh, the hours spent in company of my handsome Carlos!

I'm trying to concoct some witty insider gag. But in reality WTNV is just unique and weird for that kind of thing. Favourite episodes, can't remember names but the one where the guy is hired to deliver boxes but then takes one or two home... or the one where the weird forest appears.

I totally love how they managed to squeeze together unsettling, Lovecraft-like horror and the exquisite nonsensical humor of the late Douglas Adams.

Pah.Regular exploration is a way of weeding out these sane and rational types from deep space leaving just us 'Space oddities' to go on our merry and mad way:D
