Powerplay Longterm Powerplayers: why did you pledge to your Power?

This question is specifically not addressed at the "flyby" players who only pledge to grab the PP module, then hop on to the next power after four weeks. Rather at those who already have all the modules they want, but still engage in PP at least so some degree (like, "rank >1"). Why did you pick that specific power?

Some reasons that I could imagine:
A: Benefits - you make use of the rewards offered for rating 2 or 5, e.g. if you're a bounty hunter and work for ZH or ALD
B: Community - you got in touch with other supporters of that power and enjoy the company
C: Roleplay - you actively play a character that supports the agenda of their power
D: Influence - you enjoy influencing powerplay as such, so maybe you picked a power where you can have a greater impact than in others

Anything else?
What's your story?

Reason why I'm asking is that I think the benefits alone can hardly be it -- most of the rewards are rather rubbish; for instance I can't imagine anyone staying with Mahon for a tiny bonus in trade profits.

You are also welcome to shamelessly plug your own power. ^^ Personally I've only just begun the "gathering modules" phase, but I could imagine picking a "permanent home" once I got everything I need.

I liked Antal because he was outwardly progressive but secretly a nutter. The bonuses were fun too at the time (a bug made R5 bounties X4).

But then I felt the need to be bad and only The King offered the goodies. Cytoscramblers are nasty and fun, the Kings R5 C+P waiver is a laugh.

Nearly all long term PP players are great too.

Rubbenuke may have strayed from the one true path but he will come crawling back one day. We welcome all supplicants back with open demands. i mean 'arms', srry.
Ive been pledged to Antal for some 200 weeks now, and I came for the satire, and am still here for the um, satire. Also the community, the strategy, the diplomacy. A ridiculous amount & variety of expertise from other members & having everything on-tap for me in whatever field I feel like. without the playergroup, on-call 24/7, it would be totally rubbish, however.
Basically, everything's great except the mechanics. oh and splitters & bl00dy pirates ofc ;D o7

Done or tried everything else in game, wanted a new challenge, saw Grom was being used as a weapon for other powers and thought we would give powerplay a real go, find out whats involved and see if we could manage to influence and direct a power.

Came back from an indirect trip to Ishum's reach Elite, Elite, Mostly Harmless and splashed out my new billions on a corvette. When I was looking for something to aim it at, some nice folks pointed me to Powerplay and, in a toss-up between anti-slavery via Winters and anti-slavery via Aisling, my Scottish nationalism convinced me to go Gaelic.

I stayed for the community spirit, and for the friends I made in my squadron.
