Gratz. And I'm jealous! I too got to Elite in exploration last night, but found a bug where the congratulations email doesn't get triggered, so I didn't get one! I was hoping to frame it and put it on the cockpit wall of my Asp as well
Incidentally, my values for getting Elite were almost exactly the same as yours. It ticked over at ~157,000,000 cr

It's listed as ASP in the shipyard in game so is perfectly fine. 
That's because of the stupid font that doesn't distinguish between upper and lowercase letters. ASP is shouting and/or abbreviation of something, Asp is the name of the ship.ASP is not bad, mmmmkay? Reckon you've had some of Mr. Mackie's stash.

Well, it is true that people aren't always correct.
I'm looking forward to testing out the Cobra Mk. IV myself. So far it looks like it won't quite be at Asp level though, unfortunately. Really though, I prefer the small single seat ships. Too bad they don't make any really high end ones for me to spend my hard earned credits on. I guess the Vulture will be the top of the line for me for combat. Not sure about the rest. Right now I'm out exploring in a Scout.
Last night my custom control setup managed to get reset when I accidentally changed controller modes on it and then loaded a different preset from the controller menu because the game didn't recognize my controller, or rather, recognized it as the different controller that it had turned into (darn you Microsoft and your silly DirectX and Xbox controllers ruining it for the rest of us). Fortunately my ship was pointed away from everything at the time and I was able to log out with my keyboard and mouse. So, if you'll excuse me, I have some mapping and testing to do in the tutorials.
