looking behind seat changed?

I used to be able to lean out and look behind my seat. Now when I try and lean out, my whole seated position shifts over as I lean. Is this intentional? known issue? bug?

Have you been hitting the Christmas cheer a little heavy?

Nope, I take it you can lean out and look around behind you still? It seems like it must be game related and not to do with my VR setup, because tracking is working perfectly, head movement etc is all fine. Just leaning or shifting my actual position as opposed to turning my head is exhibiting different behaviour to previous.

Sounds like your positional tracking is not working, and you're only getting rotational tracking from gyros. If you're using the rift or vive, make sure the little IR transmitters are working and have line of sight to your headset. If you're using WindowsMR, make sure that you have enough light in your play area, otherwise the inside out tracking can't see.

If you're using a Windows Mixed Reality device, make sure there is enough light in the room to enable full positional tracking. If there is not enough light, the cameras on the HMD can't see enough detail in the room to determine its position, so only the internal gyroscopes will work and you will only have 3 DOF (Degrees Of Freedom).

I am using WMR, Samsung Odyssey. 6dof works fine in cliffhouse, skyrim, etc, so I'm not sure it's an issue with the tracking. My motion controllers are also tracking just fine.

Only in Elite does this happen.

I've had it happen with WMR, intermittently, as mentioned above I think when in low light.

Since I've been having problems with Elite specifically (Lenovo Explorer), and they are the same one's that others have reported that point to a USB power problem, I wonder if somehow ED makes an extra demand on USB. Maybe for you, the tracking in Cliff House is okay in lower light until you play Elite. My problem is with an extra frame momentarily coming into view e.g. the planet that is out of view, momentarily flashing over one eye when approaching a station, orange flashes in the start up menu (the SRV and Eagle screen) and the directional reticule that surrounds a targeted ship, suddenly popping into the cockpit. These are blink of an eye speed moments. I only get this in ED. I have an Inateck Superspeed USB 3 hub, and noticed this problem after doing some cable management. I started using the SATA Y cable splitter with the chain o SATA power for my storage. Since then I have swapped to the Molex to SATA power cable (how I originally had it before the tidy up), but I haven't had time to test it.
