Elite / Frontier Looking for a fast way to increase (Federation) Millitary ranking

As for your question, there are many guides out there on the net, but basically you want to be doing photo recon missions as they are worth the most points, note that you have to get an "excellent" rating on the mission, which means getting close to the enemy base before taking your snapshot. Be careful if the target is on a planet with high gravity! Get too close and you risk crashing. With that in mind, buy a ship with a good hyperspace range and high thruster ratings. A Falcon would be a good choice, if you want to stick with Federation ships, but I would prefer an Eagle Mk3 myself.

eta cassiopeia is ment as starting system for military missions, cause you have many to choose from the board, destination doesn't matter so much except you wan't to take a contract on return (of course you will).
if you start a imperial career it's much easier, on facece you will have a lot of missions to the same destination, so you advance quicker.
but hey, try to find out what's best, i think that's part of the game
