Looking for carrier headed back to the bubble?

Hi all,

Since Alpha, I have had the game, but due to schedule, I have not really had time to grind. I left for Colonia before engineers even existed and recently made it to Colonia. I realize, getting into bounty hunting for the first time, that engineering is a must-have. Anyway, I never unlocked engineers in the bubble because I was not in the bubble when they came out. There appears to be no way to unlock engineers in Colonia.

TLDR: Is anyone (carrier) headed back to the bubble so that I can hitch a ride with two ships (Krait MkII and Explorer Asp)? I need to go back to unlock engineers, sigh.

PS: if there is a way to do engineers from Colonia, that is, of course, also welcome advice.

PSS: I'm not too fond of the forthcoming (engineering) grind either; FDev and their "great ideas"...

Thank you!

Engineering is actually easier and better in Colonia. I'd recommend not bothering with a carrier and doing the following:

Buy a Sidewinder or other cheap ship, then fly out and crash it/shoot the station/self destruct and take the free Sidewinder option in the bubble.

22,000ly travelled in 20 seconds.

Now look into unlocking Elvira Martuuk, The Dweller, Liz Ryder and Todd Mcquinn. Everyone else in the bubble is optional as far as you're concerned. Get all of those to between grade 3-4 access (you'll get an invitation for 2 engineers each when you get to the right spot). Once you have Mel Brandon, Petra Olmanova, Marsha Hicks and Etienne Dorn unlocked you're pretty much set. Pick up some manufactured materials around the bubble from high grade emission signal sources and you're ready to jump back to Colonia in a ship that will easy do 50 ly jumps. Alternatively you could look into the fleet carrier discord as players regularly post on there when they're doing long distance journeys.

Raw materials and data are easily picked up in Colonia, but if you can get to HIP 36601 there's crystalline shards there which give high grade raw materials (there's guides to those about the place as well). Data is very easily picked up at Jaques station with a frame shift wake scanner. There's a bunch of tourist beacons by the station, so it's usually full of NPC Belugas. Scan the wake signals after the NPCs jump out and you'll have a bunch of data in no time.

It might also be worth looking into the guardian FSD booster while you're in the bubble as well as that gives a flat boost up to nearly 11ly extra jump range for the size 5 module.

Oh, and if you haven't already, bookmark the following stations- Colonia Dream in Ratraii, Tologarf's Junkyard in Kojeara and Foster Terminal in Coeus. They have material traders for data, raw and manufactured materials respectively.

If you're ever short of something and have loads of something else (which will happen) those are the places to go. The exchange rates are pretty pricey though.

The Fleet Carrier Owners discord has a channel that announces carrier departures and destinations. Colonia <-> Bubble is a frequent route for carriers.

I'd add one thing:

Do the engineers in Colonia first! Then you can pin some of the Blueprints you can't get in the bubble. There are some G5 ones (can't remember which) that are exclusive to Colonia's engineers.

☝️Listen to him, he's right.

Another useful advice.
Just be careful, if people promise you to bring you to Colonia if you mine some Tritium for them, I'd advise caution
