Looking for Community

Not quite sure where to post this thread, so I figured I would drop it here.

Does anyone know of a group of mature gamers who are planning on playing Elite?

I'm a 49 yr old retired guy who spends a lot of time gaming. Since I have a relatively low tolerance for 13 yr old egos, I'm looking for a mature crowd to hang out with to play Elite.

Am all setup for TeamSpeak, though I am also familiar with Ventrillo and Mumble.

Anyone out there???

You'll find that quite a few people here are 40+ so you're definitely not alone.
It's usually pretty easy to distinguish between them on the forums at least, in game not so easy.
When ship to ship comms, groups, networks etc... etc... come along I expect you'll be able to choose who you fly with.

Really? Retired at 49? Dang, I've got 7 years to go to make it big.

To answer though, from an earlier poll somewhere now buried deep in the forums, the current Elite community seems to consist of about 70% of members well over their 30s, with more than just a handfull of players pushing past 60. I'd say you have a good chance of fitting into your desired age range.

Mental age, now thats a different story. There seems to be a lot to indicate that many of us have never grown out of our teens.

Well I'm 50 in a few weeks time, and I've found a group that suits me down to the ground. I joined the First Great Expedition, a group of people that plan to explore and discover a route to the core. If that interests then please join up.
