Looking for painite, willing to trade

You can mine it yourself in any metallic ring. (pristine is best).
You will need:
A mining laser (or 2, if they're small)
A refinery.
A cargo hold.

HIGHLY RECOMMENDED:
A collector limpet controller, and limpets.

Recommended:
A Prospector limpet controller (and limpets).

All limpets are the same. The controller programs them.

Shoot your Prospector (programmed) limpet at an asteroid (in a pristine, metallic ring). Eventually, you will find one containing painite. (Alternatively, if you don't have a prospector limpet controller, shoot an asteroid with your mining laser and look at "contacts" to see what comes out of it.)
Shoot your mining laser at the asteroid, open your cargo hatch and unleash your collector limpet(s).

i know how to mine, i know how to find it, i dont want to go out and put even more effort into something i hate. Id rather just finish off this last of this 500 tons of ore and trade for the last 2 painite tons

Might have a better response if you had stated that in the beginning because folks just cant help but be helpful around here with sharing information, and you appear to have already mined 498t of ore...what is 2t more?

You could have stacked mining missions to make it quite profitable and I only state this as I recently completed the 500t requirement myself.....unfortunately I broke my arm a week ago so combat is out for me for a few weeks so mining is my gig now and I am making a packet and collecting a mass of engineer mats at the same time....have been able to mod 2 Pythons whilst this has been going on so it does come down to whether your seeing your mining glass half empty or half full!!

Fly safe, unfortunately there are some rather helpful CMDRS out there o7

Asteroid mining is awesome for collecting Grade 1/2 mats.

It's nice hitting the ENG to mod your pulse lasers and having 63 attempts to get it right :)

lemme correct my statement, i just looked at the requirement in game, it is 10 tons
