Looking for Pirate factions

can't be entirely sure on this but I think you want to look for factions named after colors they tend to have pirate-y(?) missions for example the Cemiess Purple Commidity tends to have missions to either smuggle stuff, acquire stolen goods or kill authority.
In the newbie systems I remember the Kremainn blue brotherhood also being very pirate-y

As far as I know, anything that comes close to a minor faction as a pirate faction you have to look for 'independant' outposts. Some even fly the pirate 'skull' on or around their stations. I have never seen a 'pirate' faction have control of a system, nor operate from a full on station. but I haven't been everywhere.
If you like you can join the Archon power in PP. That is the largest, in-game pirate group. Also, you could join one of the pirate player groups out there. The code is pretty prevalent out there, and I understand they are recruiting.

Why not join Archon Delaine? You don't need to grind for merits, just do missions for their core system, i think that's a pirate faction.
I did find an Independent anarchy faction in a bit out of the way system called Howard. There is a faction called something like Howard Drug Cartel (probably wrong on the actual name) that was in conflict with another power in the system, but they had over 40% influence there. You could go there and help them control the system and do missions for them.

Exphiay and Canopus: The main faction is Canopus Crimson Dragons and there's also a gang called canopus something, but to top it all off there's a faction of investment bankers who regularly fly fer-de-lance and have shady missions. If that's not the most evil system...
Select anarchy as the filter. It will help but will only show anarchy controlled systems.
There can be anarchy factions in other control systems.

I am allied with a few of these faction as I go back and forth and do missions for them.
Would be nice to have someone else who does missions for the same factions.
