Newbie looking for a place to fly & Learn/. Many years experience with flight & Combat Flight simms. Complete newbie with this Sim!! Retired USAF , US. Eastern Time zone. I have a team speak server that I have used for many years didn't do well with Discord hard to teach an Old Dog new tricks. I enjoy flying with People who are oriented towards teamplay and have a good sense of Humor.

It sounds like you would suit us to a tee. Unfortunately we're not even close to being in your time zone.
However we do have a couple of pilots in our faction that are so with that in mind I'd like to introduce you to the Alliance Rapid-reaction Corps. (ARRC for short)
Even if you don't join you are most welcome to call in and chat. ask questions or whatever.
We are a possibly one of the biggest, small Player Minjor Factions. We are a well established group with a presence in over 20 of the "Old Worlds"
Our base of operations is in our home system of Zaonce, Ridley Scott station.
The home of the Zaonce Fleet and the Bank of Zaonce.
Our systems include Arque, the new home of Professor Palin and Tionisla, where the famous Ships Graveyard is reputed to bear permanent monument to many a brave pilot.
We are a friendly bunch and we love helping out Noobs.
Although we are mostly based around Europe we do have a few US players..
Now that we have Professor Palin in our jurisdiction we are having what the ancient Chinese called interesting times.
A lot of us were here in '84 and as far as game play goes we moslty bimble about engaging in pretty much whatever come to mind.
Our activities include PVE exploration
PvP in a training group called "Fighter Club" (See my signature. No membership required)
Thagoid hunting in the Pleiades
Racing SLFs, SRVs and other vehicles in odd and remote locations
Driving SRVs into space stations...
Well you get the idea. Pretty much anything that's fun.

Yes we also involve ourselves in the Background Simulation and Powerplay aspects of the game. Flipping systems for the Alliance, fighting to keep or control systems etc.
You pretty much couldn't find a more friendly bunch of commanders with an eye for fun and a taste for adventure always on the lookout for new and exciting things to try.

You certainly came to the right place to look for a squadron to fly with and you will be inundated with tons of invites over the next few days.

The name may imply we are a serious bunch that loves to bring death in PvE and PvP but we are anything but that. (Sure we like to make things go boom in the darkness of space, it’s part of why we all love this game
, it is not all we do though)
We are an international squadron that is just one division of a much larger clan that is spread over 18 game titles. We use our own TS server for all voice comms as it is the best at supporting our large numbers. Our squadron currently has 80 active full-time members with about 60% coming from NA, the rest are a mix of EU and AUS time zones. So, no matter what time of day you play you will find someone to fly with. The only members that fly alone are the ones that choose to. We do all activities in wings from mining and trading to bounty hunting and conflict zones, even to the extreme of Thargoid hunting and Guardian tech material hunting. Doesn’t matter what skill level you have as we have all been in your shoes at some point and even some of the newest of players take time out of their play time to help others. We feel Elite Dangerous is best played with others and so teamwork and team play is something that just happens organically here. Bare in mind sometimes time is just wasted in game as we just mess around and crack jokes. We run weekly events to encourage group participation and can bring a lot of laughs.
Also if you are interested, we support a PMF (Player Minor Faction) that was inserted into the game for us by F’Dev just over a year ago and manipulate the BGS (Back Ground Simulator) daily in that support. It is by no means a requirement of the squadron members to participate in this but rather a by product of what ever actions you want to do on a given day.
The only things we are strict on is no PvP ganking or grieving is allowed. To use TS when in-game and to take a look at our forums once every couple of weeks (this last one is mostly so that you don’t miss out on any new announcements).
