Newcomer / Intro Looking for Tellurium in Odyssey (not Horizons!)

So it seems that tellurium crystal shards are not spawning on the same planets in odyssey that they are spawning on in horizons (or maybe not at all anywhere?). I do know that I can start the horizon client to get them and it does work, but I have what may be an unpopular opinion here: farming those in horizons sucks because you have to shoot them with the SRV, which takes ages to reposition to get proper shots.

I find it much much faster and easier to snipe a bunch of crystals on foot with a manticore executioner and then pick them up with the SRV, because you can aim precisely and don't have issues whenever any small part of the main crystal occludes the small one.

So I'd like to farm Tellurium in the same way rather than having to do it with horizons. Do anyone knows if tellurium crystals just spawn on different planets on odyssey, or not at all, or in some other form?

I just got some from a moon in the black. They spawn but it isnt like it is in Horizons. Check the planets composition and look for a higher % of it.

I’ve been searching for the answer to this too, as the average Google/YouTube search takes you to Horizons-only solutions.

In Odyssey, it seems Needle Crystals are non-existent, and any planets that report Tellurium are likely misleading you because it won’t be available in a form you can extract.

Instead, you need to look for planets with Crystal Shards… and so far, that means you’re going to have to travel far outside The Bubble (around 35 jumps minimum in a 60Ly-per-jump ship like mine).

Honestly… it’s easier just to switch to Horizons where you’ll find the stuff in abundance within The Bubble. But a really poor gameplay experience, IMO.

That doesn't work any more - what happens in Horizons stays in Horizons and vice versa - Live and Legacy are totally different.

Tellurium is one of the rares that can be gathered from shooting the cargo racks at the crashed Anacondas - Orrere and Koli Discii for example (don't go to The Bug Killer as that site is broken, the cargo racks there explode on loading with no materials produced).

No Crystal Shards at HIP 36601

I have not been able to find Crystal Shards on HIP 36601 (any planet) since the last update. Just hours before the update I was collecting shards, easily found. Now no matter where I land there are no shard "trees". I jumped all the way out here to gather raw mats. Now I can't find anything...
