Looking for Yttrium for days now...

He everyone,

I'm looking for Yttrium to upgrade my FSD range and therefore I need that stuff. I know I have to look on planets and I'm using the spreadsheets to know on which planets I need to be, but I really can't find that stuff. Anyone who can point me in the right direction?

Thanks in advance!

The barnacles drop Yttrim on Merope 5c, although they are bugged at the minute so I don't know if they still drop it :/ (I know not very helpful but it's something)

You can find Yttrium on planetary surfaces. Search for metal rich worlds close to larger stars... Found 3 or 4 units on such worlds, not far from the bubble (approx. 2kly)

Heilelang 2 (0.3729, -75.6871) - 50% Yttrium, 50% Cadmium

Hopefully the locations haven't been scrambled with the 2.1 release. The above area worked in 2.0

Edit - Think the barnacles are still dropping rare materials, it's just the Meta alloys that are bugged. Mission givers also supply Yttrium

In a radius of those exact coordinates? I'll take a look when I'm on later tonight.

I think I started 1 degree off at -74.500 something and headed towards that direction hopping here & there with the ship yep!

I stumbled upon the mother of PoI's looting 38 tons of metals !!!

Also, when searching this kind of rare materials you should look for metallic meteorites. they're the ones which drop the rarest materials (they're not very common to find though). Mesosiderites are fine too, but don't loose your time with bronzites and outcrops.

Here are how those stuff appear on your scanner :

I often find Metallic Meteorites nearnear craters, seems obvious but I prefer to share. :)
Also don't go on planets that are hotter than the material's melting point, and preferably in a system with a young star

I also noticed that about meteorites and craters. Especially on Ice worlds.
One more tip, if after something like ten meteorites, mesosiderites, you haven't found what you're looking for you should try another planet.

Barnacles.. Zenith and I have just completed a full revisit to every site, including the new ones (polonium at last). Materials they yield (including Yttrium) are included in the spreadhseet and also their current state .. destroyed/active/active&guarded (watch out for those turrets) ands number of spikes.

https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1bWITzZmYMYqwXqX5NHw02tyCGd7IFcfHpjYGeZL9GHQ/htmlview# <- click the tabs along the top for all barnacle cords and their states on each planet.

TLDR:
Go to Pleiades Sector JC-U b3-2 2 -18.23 -17.35
Intact double barnacle, 34 spikes..
No defences.
Happy farming. Watch you don't annoy the shepherds.

Extremely low gravity planets, meaning below .1 gravity, metallic meteorites drop them.

I found some today on Junga 5. Spent about 3 hours down there, got 2 Yttrium and a bunch of other stuff, including Arsenic and Germanium.
