I do have one. But I opened it up today. Mechanically, there was a problem, but today, I managed to, touch wood, fix the mechanical problem. Namely the stick was drifting.

However, there is a couple other problems I need help with.

First, the MFD. It won't light up when I start the PC. Yet, if I unplug it and put it back in, it does light up. However the text on the MFD doesn't really make any sense.

Secondly, the pinkie switch. It's never worked. Anyone know how on Earth I can get it running?

I've since completely uninstalled the drivers and such for the stick, and I'll need help finding what I need to download. It really confuses me. When it works, I love the stick. But I'm struggling to get it working 100%.

Help?

Use a USB2 port on your motherboard. Don't use a USB3 port or a port that has a flylead to the case.

Unplug it. Download and install your chipset drivers from your motherboards support site. Reboot.

Download the x52 Pro drivers for your OS from Saitek's site.

http://www.saitek.com/uk/down/drivers.php

Install them. Plug in X52 when prompted. Reboot.

Hopefully it works.

Oh I should have said, this is the standard X52, not the pro.

I just live with that issue, if attached at boot lights forget settings and MFD backlight is off, i just open control panel app and click on all the settings to get them back again, annoying but not rage inducing....

You need to unprogram the buttons

You need to use the saitek profiler and select a new profile but make sure the pinke trigger is un programmed then ed will recognise it also the mouse 2 button is the throttle scroll wheel which you also unprogram then you can use that it's the x52b32 button in the profile

Yes - use a plain old black USB2 port on the back panel :D

Saitek kit has some issues with USB3 and case ports - for all sorts of various reasons.

Okay, thanks. I never knew that.

I will try this tomorrow when I have some time at hand.

Get rid of the worthless piece of crap and upgrade to a HotasX, if at all possible. You lose a bunch of buttons and a bit of travel, but you gain a lateral thrust axis and a working twig.

I wouldn't say it's that bad - but it does appear to be a bit of a quality lottery with some of the newer ones.

I've got three sets, all of which work fine, but one has needed some repairs over the years.

I wish I was English like my hero Tj.
I've used an x52 and later a Pro for years with Elite.

The suggestions here are good ones to get it working better. Good luck!

Update:

The MFD still does not light up. However the text is there. I'm treating it as a non-issue now.

As for the buttons, I'm pleased to say that all buttons are now fully functional in Elite.

Double check the LED brightness settings in the control panel. Try and plug it into another computer or a USB charger - it should at least glow for a bit.

After the pc has started open game controller panel and go to x52 properties. Just click the slider on MFD brightness and it will light up. Same for LEDs if they don't light up.

That's the thing. The slider in the options is turned all the way up. No joy.
